I just found Hiori. I was wishing for such an app for a long time. Finally, I can take a photo of a product and rate it such that I won’t buy it in the future again.
It happens very often that I buy something again because I forget it. E.g. tofu in a carton where you can’t see what’s inside.
I see no mention of anti-features, and usually dependency on a third party network is considered as such. So I wonder, who manages the information? Or is it peer to peer, some form of email/fediverse type of federation, or something else?
Opaque packaging is a solvable problem and this app is exactly the kind of tool F-Droid was made for. The tofu example is relatable because supermarkets pull that trick constantly, hiding mediocre products behind fancy labels. Does the data stay local or is there any sync option?
