Bad take. Even with a decent degree, you might end up flipping burgers. Idk about your parents but mine were both teachers. From a young age, I was told that they would not be able to pay for my college. They weren’t irresponsible, they were just broke. Even if my parents were just irresponsible, why should I be saddled with lifelong debt?
Student loans are govt guaranteed, meaning they’re zero risk for the lender, meaning they’ll agree to any amount, meaning colleges have no reason not to charge higher and higher tuition. This has steadily driven up debt of graduates, crippling their ability to generate wealth. This affects their ability to start a college fund for their own kid, who will face an even higher tuition.
Your comment is clearly coming from a place of privilege with huge blind spots for how the average American experiences life. Ignorance is one thing. Willful ignorance is much worse.
