I hate pagers. I carried one everyday all day and night. My life was ruled by one 24/7/365 for over 20 years. First as a volunteer EMT and firefighter then as a full time medic. Just listening and waiting for those tones to drop.

I use Phind solving computer problems. It does cite the sources it uses. At least for distro and general Linux issues. So far, it’s been a very good resource when I’ve needed it.
Variety - a silly taskbar program that changes my background randomly from my own selected sources with added random quotes. I have it set to change my background every 3 hours and the quotes every hour I think. I just can’ live without it anymore.
While I tend to think Taylor Swift could best serve the world by simply sticking to flying her private jet down to the local 7-11 to get a carton of milk and a pint of ice cream while keeping her mouth shut, she has the right to say she will vote for Harris. And I fully support her right to make that choice and statement.
But I also firmly believe that celebrities should not use their notoriety or fame to push agendas. There are far too many easily swayed people out there who will follow the lead of famous people who espouse an idea that is dumber than cow shit simply because hey are famous - See Andrew Tate or a number of disgraced BBC reporters.
Greed and jail is keeping him in the race. Followed by narcissism and the drive for power. (The last 2 are a requirements for a politician of any stripe).
Yahoo, like all home pages and web news sites are aggregators. Just like most websites these days. There are few original sources for international and national news reporting anymore. And the vast majority of websites simply buy the news they want.
It’s one big circle jerk with everyone citing pretty much the same sources all the time.

They try and use google, which doesn’t tell you anything about the information contained in the book. Or they complain about not being able to find the page they are told to look for.
Yep, students these days have no idea about the back of their books and how useful the index can be and the citations after that.
Even after repeatedly pointing it out, they still don’t make use of it. Despite the index being nearly a cheat code in itself.
As someone who has taught math to students in a classroom, unless you have at least a basic understanding of HOW the numbers are supposed to work, the tool - a calculator - is useless. While getting the correct answer is important, I was more concerned with HOW you got that answer. Because if you know how you got that answer, then your ability to get the correct answer skyrockets.
Because doing it your way leads to blindly relying on AI and believing those answers are always right. Because it’s just a tool right?

Lots of promises get made in an election. But you still got to make it happen if you win.
With a serious head injury you ain’t going back to work in the morning. Not defending the surgeon, but the guy probably might never work again because of the injury. Hell, his whole personality might be changed because of it. And there is no way to know how the operation might have turned out or not.
While none of us here can say for sure, I wonder if this is more forced by Amazon’s fleet insurer raising rates rather than an evil directly from Amazon just because they can.
Amazon has roughly 30,000+ delivery vehicles. I don’t know their accident rate. But any injury or accident lawyer can tell you that listening to music and singing and generally be-bopping down the road IS distracted driving. This will cause larger payouts per accident and also higher insurance rates. And it’s low hanging fruit to go after in court. If Amazon is noticing the extra cost becoming an issue, it could well be the reason for such a draconian policy.
I’m not sayin’. I’m just sayin’ it could be a driver, (pun intended), in this instance.
To be fair to Wellstone, he did apologize and learned from his mistake and go on to becoming a fine senator for Minnesota and the rest of the nation.
His funeral was a whole 'nother kettle of fish. Another poor look for the state of Minnesota DFL. There seems to be some washing of his memory apparently. It was a big deal and made national news at the time. Perhaps search for news articles from papers like the Washington Post or New York Times. Perhaps the Minneapolis Star Tribune. I remember it well because I’m old enough to have been there. It kind of made me question my voting for him. Still, I voted for him again and would have again when he was killed - despite his campaign promise of only being a one term senator. (He was pro term limits until it was HIS term also)
The issue is the complexity of the bespoke design of drive trains. It’s nigh on impossible to design a “one size fits all” or even “fits a majority” of solutions for a conversion kit that isn’t stupidly expensive.
