I don’t know about first but when I was young I played a pair of animated point and click educational games called Dino Dudes and Space Dudes. Years later I tried to find copies of them and there super rare, turns out (from memory) they were developed in Australia and not widely distributed in a time where not everything made its way onto the internet.
I did manage to find a freeware copy of both games online but the effort to get them running turned me off of the endeavour.

That’s exactly what they’re called and you’re right about them being difficult to get after the fact. It is possible to find the right forced subtitles on different subtitle sites and Plex makes it very simple to integrate them but I’ve had very mixed results finding them.
I live in Australian state that has two party consent for recording of phone calls, I’d love to see the legal decision that would come from this sort of recording but not keeping audio type of call record. It’d be interesting, I think.

Edit: or should I say “Ameri-can’t see this comment chain”
As a man this sums up my experience.
Speaking to a woman who found their spouse via dating apps she said not to sweat it, pretend you’re in a job interview and trying to get to know the other person. Since then I’ve realised she was right, but as a man I’m the one being interviewed. Just like a job interview; it’s stressful, frustrating and often you’ll never know where you’ve gone wrong when they turn you down.
One can only hope!
Head and shoulders above the rest.
Why fix what ain’t broke?

Unfortunately, yes. iPhones will check passively and Android phones can get an app but you have to check actively. Hopefully Apple and Google work on a solution for active detection on Android devices.
Not that I’m aware of, for the reasons you mentioned. I believe you can now share AirTag locations with family members and that’ll count towards ‘checking in’ and not beep but nothing for sharing with someone outside of family members.
…placing at least seven AirTags on his ex-wife’s car to surveil her.
Assuming the tags weren’t checking in with an owning device (iPhone) that car would’ve been beeping up a storm.
I recently lent a set of work keys to a colleague that I forgot had an AirTag on them, in their words: “fucking things beeped all weekend and my phone kept telling me I’m being followed!”
How did he calculate the 70% chance?
Maybe they asked ChatGPT?
Are you me?
That’s what I hate about this particular point in time. There’s always been image manipulation but never so accessibly high quality. The amount of “cool photos” I’ve seen where the first comment points out a glaringly obvious (once spotted) AI mistake makes me start questioning any cool photos I come across. It sucks because there’s definitely amazing people out there making amazing stuff and my first thought now is “is this generated by an algorithm?”
Thanks! I was too lazy to search but curious enough to go to the comments.
