Yea it’s clunky as hell and unusable for driving, but as a browsable walking map it’s the best

DDG is older than Bing after all
Bing as a brand, sure. But Bing was just a rebranded Windows Live Search, which was a rebranded MSN Search
Could you expand a bit on what makes it horrible?
I really liked the first two thirds of that film before they went into the black hole

You can prise my Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact from my cold dead hand
How do I make use of this? I can’t see a way to install them on my Fennec from F Droid
Also you just did a “im all for gay rights…, but…”
I did realise I had the classic =/
hey guys stop being judgemental of bigots
Isn’t what I said
All I’ve said is you can’t extrapolate “He disagrees with X there for he must also be Y and Z”
I’ll absolutely disagree with his action in contributing to taking away same sex marriage. I don’t see why gay people shouldn’t get married.
I don’t know his reason for contributing to it. I’ll very likely disagree with his reason.
What I’m saying is, does that make him alt-right (whatever that even means)? The only thing you can deduce is that he thinks gay people shouldn’t get married
This is the first I’ve heard of that proposition so I have no idea. Nor do I know the guy’s feelings on it other than he felt motivated to donate to it
I don’t like that he supported a campaign against gay marriage. I don’t know his reasons for doing so but it’s probably not one I’d support.
But my understanding extends no further. I know he made a donation. I don’t have the nuance or understanding to extrapolate that into putting him into an entire box
There’s something ironic about tarring him with a broad brush based on one attribute
And this is what’s wrong with politics now
I’m all for gay rights and advocate for same sex marriage. But if he doesn’t then he’s now boxed in with the skinhead kill-all-the-immigrants crowd? Where’s the nuance?
That said, I don’t really trust Brave the product. It’s pushing its privacy agenda a little too hard for me to trust it.
Just use Firefox if you want privacy
Agreed, both are completely required.
You’re only one person, you don’t have to take full responsibility for all of climate change. But you can take responsibility for your slice of climate change
The answer is everyone else has to fix climate change. Everyone but me
Hm, they’ve pre-emptively blocked threads.net. But yea the list is shorter
Not in favour of this.
I chose Lemmy.world because I wanted an instance that would federate even with people I might disagree with. If it’s illegal and abusive, sure. But to defederate on ideological grounds? I was planning a recurring donation but this makes me consider setting up my own instance.
They’re welcome to whatever discussions they want to have on their instance. As long as they respect the rules of other instances when they’re here, then everybody wins.
As for their point about dismantling western propaganda - if they have documented sources then let’s have a conversation. It’s not like there isn’t western propaganda
Yea implying that we don’t have propaganda and narratives on our side of the wall is naive
If we want the truth then an open discussion is the path. There will be arguments in bad faith, sure. But that’s not limited to “them”. It’s a human discussion thing.
If his objective was to inform people, he at least succeeded with me
I do my best to avoid things that were exposed, and it confirms not to trust our “safeguards”
I think its downfall was being a closed beta, which made it useless for communicating with other people who weren’t already invited
