So you believe walking into a pawn shop and selling something to them for an agreed upon amount is no different than someone just stealing the object from you? They are completely different degrees of skeevy to me.

Also we could just throw most car salespeople into the pawn shop position, because that’s their entire job is to weasel as much money out of a person as possible.

Maybe just any commission job. As the employees are gambling they can swindle people for more money than they would otherwise get with a flat price tag

Someone gave us one of those salt lamps (bottom middle) when I lived in Florida. I thought my spouse put a glass of cold water on the table it was on and forgot about it till the next day and cleaned up the table forgetting the sweat. So I cleaned it up. Next day the same thing. I picked the salt up and realized it was slowly melting. The humidity was just so high the salt would absorb as much water as it could, then when it couldn’t hold anymore apparently just leak it on the table. Ended up putting a towel under it, then just throwing it away and buying a dehumidifier.

I’m still on the edge of whether I should joke about asking for a link and worrying I’ll get the response.

My spouse was still sleeping earlier so I tried to sneak into the room to grab my phone I left on the nightstand. When I was walking out I stepped on a stuffed mouse on a string (usually hangs from a doorframe so the cat can play with it but he pulled it down apparently). When I stepped on it I thought it was a real animal and soon as my foot felt the pressure of pushing down on such an object I jerked it up roughly to my waist, kicked the door I was trying to walk through and it slammed shut.

One of those moments where you want to apologize, but really then you are just causing more noise to wake them up further.

This seems strange to me. Why isn’t it easier to find trees than mine metal out of the ground? Unless we’ve just already mined so much metal it’s easier to melt the old stuff and reform it, but even then that seems like a lot of energy use to melt it all and make sure it’s actually pure or what not

I just don’t think “Dems” really exist. People left of MAGA just vote for Democrats because it is what they have to choose from. People who want communism or socialism or social programs or just more fallbacks all want them in varying ways. People say “corporate Democrats” which is basically the majority of what the democratic party has represented for the last decade. A lot of people want to reform what the democratic party is because it is the only structure that exists so that’s why people want to primary everyone. In the end though that means that a corporate Democrat, and all those other groups are voting to replace the same people, but they don’t have the same views/wants. So there is no one person that would be an agreeable spokesperson for all of the various beliefs. Someone who believes the means of production should be owned by the people will never agree with someone who believes the means of production should be own by private entities. So they would be shitting all over each other’s “spokesperson” or whatever.

Well his father was the one arrested at the KKK rally. Being that he was a German at a rally of people who didn’t like people who looked different then them one can only ponder what values they passed on to their kid who is trying to take citizenship away from those he doesn’t like.

And being that it’s a personal device that they can’t get either version of their own personal outlook to work, the fix will likely be having their spouse reset the password here on earth and tell them the new password because they likely forgot it. Otherwise you’d just tell them to use webmail until they got back, no point in fucking around with a locally installed product on a personal device when they will be back in less than 10 days

I agree with the sentiment, but it isn’t close to the same. Russia mobilized 100,000 troops to gather at the Ukraine border in 2020 before Biden became president. Trump has sent an additional 2,400 troops to the Iran area after starting the war. The meat grinder effect won’t work the same. Russia loses more troops a day sometimes than the U.S. has deployed. That’s why he doesn’t care. He knows he can always compare to Russia/Ukraine and “look good” while it is unfathomably stupid for him to do so.

I want to give him credit for admitting it was just racism in 2017 and going his separate way while many still voted for this type of shit 7 years later… but it’s hard to say it wasn’t his work that helped fuel the fires of that racism across the nation.

Don’t forget Bondi wasn’t even their first choice. Bondi is just who they used because they couldn’t get Matt Gaetz the position. Someone he could blackmail into doing anything because they already have the evidence that he trafficked and raped a minor. Gaetz assistant pled guilty and is in prison with a shortened sentence (14 years) with the agreement he would testify against Gaetz. Both Florida and the U.S. put the files in a drawer and essentially labeled it blackmail and let him walk free until they need to use it against him. He wasn’t found not guilty, wasn’t even tried, they just put them in a corner and said… Maybe later.

I think I got banned from a community because I said something stupid while drunk. Arguing with someone which is uncivil so I would say it was appropriate. Most of them make sense, sometimes you will see someone going on a weird trip banning people for 75 years for God knows what. I usually only go there if I posted a comment and end up seeing the comment I made leads back to a removed post, I’ll get curious and check why

In my experience just pressing the volume down key once mutes any ringing alarm or call. Upon further looking into it, any bottom silences the ringing. Volume up down or power button.
