Where i voted, you can use a computer to “mark” your ballot. It then prints it out, with your selections visible. You thwn take it to another computer, and insert it inro a slot that scans the ballot. So even with the computer voting, there was a paper trail in this instance.

So if I’m reading a comment on blorp and there is a tag that says banned right next to the poster of the comment, is there any way to know what kind of ban that is and why I’m still able to read the comment?

This doesn’t always work, though, because, say, for instance, it was made with 100% polyester. They could change the type of polyester or the quality of the supplier, and the tag would stay the same.

Kind of related, but in fifth grade, on the first day of school, my teacher told us that our most important homework every day was to play and have fun, which gave me a lot of hope for the year.

But then it turns out that he assigned a lot of homework, and I felt like I never got to do the homework #1 of play and have fun. It seemed like he had lied to us about which homework was the most important because it didn’t affect our grade whether or not we played after school, but if we didn’t do homework, not only did it affect our grade, it also meant we got taken out of recess.

Sometimes blorp had problems downloading .webp images, but I’m pretty sure the dev fixed it; i haven’t seen those errors in a long time.

As a lay person, codecs and containers are not visible to me, but the file extension is.

So .webm would be relevant in a post about .webp, because they are only one letter different.

Kind of a tangent, but while the png format uses lossless compression, you do not know that the .png you have in front of you is lossless from the filename; image softwares can and do support preprocessing an image with lossy algorithms to improve the file size.

This is sort of unlike flac for audio – it is technically also possible, but hardly anyone would do it, since the only reason to use flac is for lossless compression.

I get the impression that .png is used alongside .jpg as a general image format, although i don’t really know.

You also don’t know if your .png file has an alpha channel or not – might have been made without one.
