Lashing out with violence is definitely ingrained in most people as part of the fight/flight/freeze response, which then gets shaped by experience, etc.
“Beating the shit out of people for fun” is waaaaay further down the line in terms of behavioral development, personal experience, and cultural influence, for sure.
There are some ingrained behaviors, instincts, emotional reactions, etc. While we’re not fully blank slates, there is definitely a lot of room for influence to shape children into different sorts of adults.
Mine does, yeah. Normally I wouldn’t put it on the network, but I’ve just not had a decent place where I could plug it into my PC.
It could just be my model is old enough they don’t bother trying to gimp it remotely? Who knows.
I’ve been using a black and white toner Brother printer I got in 2013 and it’s still chugging along. My 3rd party toner cartridges also work well. Sucks your color ones aren’t though.

I usually wear simple, single color Tshirts, a light jacket, and one of a small stock of pants.
In a sense I dress just for me - easy and simple means I don’t have to spend time choosing, which I do like. A light jacket let’s me easily get warmer or cooler without having to completely change.
In another, I dress for others - I don’t wear graphic tees very much since high school because I don’t want anyone judging me for what I like, or misunderstanding and prejudging me. With plain tees, I just don’t have to deal with that particular social anxiety.
A lot of us thought this would happen if Trump won again. I don’t think any of us thought it would get this bad this quickly, but definitely within his 2nd term.
Just to be clear, when I say I blame Democrats, I mean I blame the Democratic party, the Democrat leaders (Pelosi, Schumer, etc), and their apparatus. I can see how you thought I was blaming voters, but I assure you that’s not what I meant.

I’m not sure the specific blame the above commenter is referring to, but I blame Democrats for two things.
They failed to recognize and truly fix systemic problems because the actual solutions aren’t market-oriented.
They dragged their heels on prosecuting Trump when he was out of power long enough for him to escape any liability and ultimately establish… this.
This is splitting hairs a bit, but Ground News is more of an aggregator with useful framing than a source in and of itself.
To be fair, CNN “leans left” in the same way US Democrat liberals “lean left”. Which is to say, socially progressive (usually) and economically capitalist.
Assuming I’m using those terms right, which I think I am, at least in the context of the US.
It ain’t perfect (cost of living has always been relatively high, even for states with comparable cities), but it’s far and away better than any red state to my knowledge.

Blocked on all streaming services we have. We thought it was harmless but annoying, but we got kinda spooked by how much that show in particular grabbed our kid’s attention and didn’t let go. For hours.
She’ll get tired of other shows and ask to play, etc. But not with Cocomelon and its knockoffs. We just figured that couldn’t be right. Then we read about how it was designed to hook baby brains… and that was the tipping point for us to banish it forever.
Of course, it also saved our sanity from those FUCKING SONGS. Plus I’m a big fan of animation in general, and that show BLOWS in that regard, to the point where I get kind of offended. So yeah. Good riddance.
I don’t know if it’s all dads, but that is exactly my experience. Once I could have a proper relationship through words, I really felt like a proper dad. But that took until she was closer to 4. Like I loved her, but it was definitely slow growth.

Man, I still really struggle to understand how we can reliably age-gate anything on the Internet without sacrificing privacy for everyone.
IRL you can just show your govt issued ID, but there’s virtually zero privacy risk doing so. Bouncers don’t register ID scans, typically, and they’re just one person. The govt doesn’t know you went to that club or drank at that one bar, unless they’re actively surveilling you.
But if I needed to identify myself as an adult online, simply by virtue of how digital systems work, that probably requires checking against a govt database, and that database will keep logs, and now Trump knows I went to Pornhub, and likely also exactly what I watched or searched for.
Maybe I’m dumb, but I really don’t know any way around this sort of thing.
I remember reading a Haidt article for an ethics class in grad school. The analysis felt… underwhelming? It’s been too long to remember the article, but I think it was something about the “morality” of conservatives being not worse but different than liberals (limited to the US, iirc). I just remember reading it and going… yeah conservative morality functions differently. It’s also just demonstrably worse, though, even based on what the article was focusing on?
That class was weird though. Mostly just a bunch of folks going,“yeah well this is what I care about” and disagreeing with each other with seemingly no intention whatsoever to try and evaluate or engage with one another.

My comment was more about the hypocrisy of the term “American values”. The people who most loudly espouse “American Values” rarely do more than pay lip service to ideals they think are good in a vacuum, but never actually support in practice when those values are tested even a little bit (democracy, equality, free speech, the right to protest, etc etc).
That may not be a uniquely American trait, either, but it is still annoyingly present enough it warrants complaining about.
An important thing to note is that “Breadtube” is an exonym. That is, no supposed “member” of Breadtube joined or formed a group with that label - it’s just a label that some leftists put on a few video essayists who are/were either socialists or were perceived to be close enough.
Contrapoints, Lindsay Ellis, and HBomberguy were some bigger examples of this “group”. All of them can be critiqued for different reasons, but I will usually give them a watch when they put out something. I usually learn something of value, IMHO.
