has less to do with schools and more to do with a society that glorifies credentials and extracurriculars within a rigid framework of acceptability.
if these positions were gained by aptitude tests you’d see a completely different makeup of society-- way less nepo-babies and more working class.
the intent is to exclude. why do you need a college degree to push paper in your local state office?
the middle class are the people who lived in all those american suburbs built in the 50s and 60s; those small, 2 or 3 bedroom houses with drab siding or brick facades that are an overrepresentation of the american landscape and lifestyle, despite the fact you’ve rarely ever seen one in a TV show or film. these homes were affordable to the average worker but now aren’t; those are the homes of the 90%, the actual hard-working american population–the ‘middle class.’
this isn’t that difficult of a concept.
the reddit forum design seems to inherently encourage nerd bullshit. tell me more about the dictionary definition of this or that.

what’s the difference?
people need to stop holding individuals on a pedestal because of wealth/status.
if i came up with the idea for the first internet payment processor, it doesn’t mean i know jack fucking shit about anything else in life–it just means i had a good idea; it means i was in the right place at the right time; i was there with the right amount of cash to take advantage of the situation.
i don’t care about your opinions on the environment or history or the future of mankind any more than i do the ones coming from the fingers of every know-nothing on social media.
the biggest question is: who the fuck made these people god, or at least the architects of the future, of humanity? did we have a vote on it?

doubt many ‘of the most valuable’ books haven’t been digitized or aren’t available on amazon or ebay for a pittance. when i need to find something on anna’s archive, it’s usually because it’s some bullshit, tween pulp romance novel from the late 70’s.

yeah, ok.
“atlantic writer” should be renamed to 'i’m a dumb, overeducated nepo-baby liberal that spends $15 on a coffee every morning and takes an entire month to write a horseshit essay that an indian could churn out on fiver for less than $5 if you asked nicely.

i notice this issue whenever i watch new films–everything looks so sterile and uninviting. culture has taken on this showroom/instagram aesthetic that gestures to class but has no character, taste and doesn’t look like anywhere where anyone would actually live; it’s nowhere where anyone sensible would want to live, at least.
calling it minimalistic is disrespectful because that word and style aren’t mutually exclusive.

imagine doing all that lol. that indicates he takes a personal issue with abortion.
maybe we should start shaming men for this. ‘why you trying to pay child support, bro?’

how is a pimp different than any other capitalist?
how come when it comes to the issue of sex everyone all of a sudden takes offense to someone taking a cut off the top?
aren’t car dealers pimps? aren’t they just car traffickers? isn’t mcdonalds a meat trafficker?
another question: why are women so feeble that a dude can show up at their door in a fur coat and a fedora and be like ‘you’re gonna fuck random dudes and i’m gonna take all the money’ and they’re like ‘ok.’
nowhere in culture do we consider this OK behavior so there’s no excuse for it. when men are down and out they suck down steel reserves and live in the park like normal people.
we need to talk about this.

why do asian american women always date the worst white men?
has there been an atlantic article about this?

why should anyone care about that?
devil’s advocate: "actually, if the factory owner disappeared, the factory wouldn’t be able to run because there would be nobody to replace the roof after it caved in; i held off on repairing it for 3 years to buy a vacation home but that’s not important.’
lol. they’re also using the aesthetic of a mormon wife to sell their message. that lady buys 20 pounds of beef a week.
trust me, i used to live in salt lake city.

yes. anyone who’s 35+ years of age should notice this.
while shitty things used to happen or fly under the radar, mass media used to act as cultural checks and balances to keep the insanity at arms length. but it’s all been monopolized–it’s all controlled by the crazy people. you have independent journalism but few americans read it, and most online magazines are read by out-of-touch, overeducated yuppies and aren’t nearly as biting as they used to be or should be.
but this bullshit should be obvious to anyone because the rest of culture needs to adjust to the insanity, to normalize it. how hard is it to differentiate between parody/satire and reality these days?
it’s impossible IMO. when i watch most newer films i assume they’re parody because they’re so fucking stupid.
arby’s has a bad rap, likely because of internet chatter funded by competitors, but they were the first mainstream franchise to introduce the curly fry to the world. this may seem farfetched, but when those delightful arby’s trademarked curly fries hit the street, you couldn’t just go to the local supermarket and buy a bag of curly fries–it was arby’s or nothing. and we loved those funky, spicy, intricately curled potatoes; we were as red with passion as the color of their always crispy exterior.
it became a tradition in my friend circle to indulge in this culinary experiment that would soon become one of the norms of american cuisine; we were pioneers as much as laura ingalls wilder was but our place in history has been paved over by applebees locations serving you inferior fries.
there was an arby’s in my local mall right next to the arcade, and my friend and i would indulge in savory roast beef sandwiches and curly fries, always with a generous amount of horsey sauce for that extra kick you’d only find at arby’s.
without arby’s training a generation of young men/women to appreciate spice, you wouldn’t have dozens of thai/mexican/halal joints in your area in 2026.
this is just something to think about–i’m not bragging or making a huge fuss.
so?
has that ever stopped you from downloading the entire nes/snes/n64 libraries?
i stopped there because nothing nintendo has released since then is worth a shit.

where i come from if you don’t show up to work for 2-3 days, you’re fired. you’d think the snobby fucks lecturing every american about personal responsibility would be able to at least pretend that they’re maintaining a high standard.
why is this freeloader even getting free healthcare at this point?
wheel him out onto the street like the bum that he is and let god deal with it.
it’s a satire on how women are demanding and expect men to change–even when they know the man’s flaws or vices beforehand–but men basically just expect a woman to be around. it’s an empowering fantasy. the reality is that the man would give up video games or play in secrecy because the alternative is to be lonely or pay child support.

going by the knowledge they learned in school makes them dumb though. if they weren’t foolish, they’d learn the truth through curiosity but so many doctors i’ve been to are entirely fucking useless for anything other than running tests.
have anything wrong with you that requires ACTUAL THOUGHT? well, good fucking luck with that one.
most professionals are dumbasses and you’ll get better results with google and just doing the shit yourself.
welcome to the real world where those in power make up their own rules and tell us to abide by whatever rules they make up on the fly to keep us powerless.
