Hi!
I have a light degoogled Zenfone, using Aurora Store and F-Droid. Recently my company moved offices and the new building requires an app to unlock the door, no alternatives -_-
The problem is, I can’t sign in to the app due to an “Integrity API Error (-2)” - PLAY_STORE_NOT_FOUND
. I don’t work from the office very often so its not suuuper critical, but still quite annoying to always ask someone to let me into the building… the apps support also said “sorry you gotta install the official store”.
Does anyone know if I can resolve this somehow without installing the official playstore? I have not made any progress the last couple times I tried to find a solution…
Also annoying that Asus discontinued their bootloader unlock, so I am not even too sure about fully rooting my phone. Though, I could/should honestly look into that again, but have not managed yet…
I would ask the company to provide me with a phone or an alternative way to unlock the door. What if I simply not own a smartphone?
Alternatively couldn’t you set uo something like shelter and only install the play store in your work profile?
This is the answer.
Never mix business with personal on devices. That’s bad for both.
I understand the sentiment, but it’s about the office building itself. My company rents one floor there and the infrastructure is provided.
I could get a work phone but i don’t want to produce electric trash sololy to unlock a door, if I don’t really have to. So thanks for the advice, I will check out shelter, I did not know about it.
If you end up having to go through the route of electric trash, I’d recommend buying a phone that is
- used
- tiny
So that you’re not buying something new, and so that you can use it as a “key fob”.
For example, there was the palm phone in 2018 or so which was a massive flop because it was small and underpowered. Unihertz devices could be another good alternative. Also older, smaller Xperia phones - a 2018 flagship would cost peanuts and be way more powerful than you actually need to run a key fob app.
Have you installed a dummy Play Store app? I think in case of MicroG it’s called FakeStore
I need to look into MicroG again, i tried that once without root and it did not work right away… thanks for the reminder
microG requires ROM integration; root is entirely tangential.
You can ask your company for solution. or you can set up a work profile with shelter and install that app inside with Google play and keep the profile disabled most of the time.
Thanks, i will check if i can use shelter to resolve that. Did not even know this
