Recently discovered the wonders of the stremio + real debrid + torrentio, works wonders on the newly bought Nvidia Shield Pro. However, I would like for the rest of the family to experinece the same, and completely get rid of all other streaming services. But… as the pirate I am, I started thinking about workarounds for only having to pay for 1 real debrid account. As my family is scattered across multiple different locations, we cannot due to RDs rules, share account, as far as I’ve understood. So my question to my fellow pirates are as follows:
- Is there a way for me to ONLY pay for 1 RD account, yet give access to other family members?
- What happens if I were to run all TV’s and devices behind the same VPN(tailscale exitnode), would that be enough to to let Real Debrid think we’re all on the same network?
I have the full *arr stack set up on the side, (but much prefer to be streaming most of what I watch). I will however download older series and shows that have multiple seasons.
Or is the answer to this to turn to Usenet instead?
Let me know ur thoughts and experiences.
I believe they only care about concurrent IPs, not concurrent use in general. If the IP is the same for all downloads then I don’t think they’ll send you a warning. Just make sure the VPN clients have a killswitch though.
They go by a ‘2 strikes in a week’ system to account for accidental misuse. If they see 2 IPs used at once then they’ll reset your API key and tell you they’ll block your account if you do it again in the next 7 days.
I pay for 2 accounts personally because it’s still far cheaper than watching things ‘the proper way’.
Yeah and I think I’ll go by paying for multiple accounts too. I don’t really mind paying for the convenience, it was just my pirate mind wanting to think about workarounds and hearing what people do.
I actually completely agree with you, I probably won’t be setting up plex debrid anytime soon. I was more curious as I mentioned. I will happily pay for the convenience aswell as the service for RD.
To be fair, pirating a service you would otherwise not pay for (regardless of source) doesn’t effect their revenue stream and therefore would be considered ethical piracy. Pirating content from pirates is perfectly fine.
