Big project update today, as we officially have a front-end set up for the app. Please check this thread for an introduction to the project. (lemmy.world crosspost)
Technical Info
It’s running tailwind v4 as a watch service in it’s own container, which I’m excited about because I’ve never experienced how convenient it makes development. The UI items are DaisyUI, and the charts are from ApexCharts. The icons are HeroIcons. Of course, there will be a attribution page in the software for all the assets and packages that are used.
Sidebar
Very excited with the behavior of the sidebar menu so far. It has single-link items as well as group items. You can expand the groups individually and the sidebar will partially open to accommodate the sub-item names (Timeclock, Actions, etc). Or you can hit the toggle at the top to fully open it and reveal the item header names (i.e Dahsboard, My Items, etc.).If you toggle the menu closed it will collapse down to the second picture shown above, including closing any open groups.
If the menu is partially expanded to accommodate open groups, and you close the last group, the javascript event listener will detect that and fully collapse the menu.
Themes
I will post the different themes I have so far as comments. Please vote for your favorite! You can make me a theme to test at the daisyUI website here: DauisyUI Theme Generator.
When it looks the way you want, click on the black ‘CSS’ button at the top and copy/paste the code block into a comment here so I can respond with a screenshot of your theme on the dashboard.
Anyway thanks for checking out the post! Cheers!
