Weekly Share-Your-Build Post

This is part of a weekly series of Share-Your-Build Post threads for everyone to share their builds, discuss different server solutions, and share knowledge and resources!     My Plex server is a small Intel QuickSync box in a 2U chassis in my rack.

    • Intel Celeron G4900
    • ARCTIC Alpine 12 LP cooler
    • 12GB DDR4 RAM
    • Gigabyte H310M-A board
    • 400W PSU from EVGA
    • Mellanox ConnectX-3 10 GbE network card
    • no discreet GPU, relying on Celeron’s built-in UHD 610 iGPU
    • iStar D-213-MATX chassis

    It’s running PlexPass edition on Ubuntu 22.04. This little beast can do 15 simultaneous (non-4k) hardware transcodes without breaking sweat.

    The actual media is on a 50TB UnRaid server that also hosts various media managers like Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr, Bazarr, etc. I also have another Plex server instance running in a Docker container for direct playing of 4k content, because QuickSync can’t quite handle that.
