So for this challenge I’m subtracting a point for anyone who posts within 24 hours. It’s not ideal, and I know it’s not something everybody likes, but we should settle that outside the contest I think.

    As the ship shuddered, little Noah stood by the viewport, pressing his tiny hand against the cool glass. His breath fogged up the window as he stared out at the chaos unfolding in the skies beyond. Planets hung like marbles in the void, burning and fractured, and streaks of light flashed by—the endless war raging on in the distant space. He didn’t understand why everything outside was crumbling, but he could feel the tension around him.
