Apple music lists it as Alternative Rap. I don’t have any way to describe it better.

Just love the storytelling of this song and the struggles it shows. Great artist, I only now discovered.

The first time I found Ren - Hi Ren it gave me chills. 2am probably wasn’t the right time to go down that rabbit hole but I’m also so glad I did, I’ve really enjoyed watching his rise over the last few months. I hope this current treatment also does wonders for him.

This song was the first one I heard of him and it gave me chills too. Also 2 or 3 am and going down that rabbit hole since then. 7 am now. I hope that too!

Yeah its pretty crazy… I cannot really put into words what that song makes me feel. As a guy that has to fight mental illness for quite a long time it really hits quite hard because he gets a lot of points. Its not that I hear voices like him. For me its just my own thoughts that tell me ever so often that I suck and am worth nothing. Its crazy how that guy gets that all into that song. The whole fight that he does. And in such a freaking cool way. The other songs that he made also remind me more of an story or bard style than typical rap that I see in mainstream today. Can recommend it fully

That was my second introduction to REN, the first was the quite different Patience https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJNNe6aUQak

Edit: I brought “The Tale of Jenny and Screach” on CD to support him and his treatment. I was the first CD I have purchaced in maybe 15 years

Well this is wonderful. What a talent! I’m thinking it is as if Eminem was the lead in Hamilton.
