3·31 minutes agoYeah. If I needed collaboration, I would just whitelist their ips or require everyone involved to use Wireguard vpn, Tailscale or other solutions that allows access without being publically exposed.

1·1 hour agoIm upvoting you, you put so much effort into this response and made me think twice about it. Perhaps you are right. I would love if you are. And yeah, its australia, not the US, of course.

23·2 hours agoYeah thanks for that. I dont put that much work into any comment. Impressive!
My opinion is that the US government is in bed with the tech industry and their wet dream together is to watch and control the entire population, on the internet as well as in real life.
Thats why I dont think this is about protecting children. Its just how they get to their end goal of authentication on the internet for everyone. Step one is stuff like this, require id to verify your age.
Step two is to implement it for everyone because “we already have age verification for kids, lets make it more automatic for everyone by letting people authenticate when they use the internet”. Thats how it goes. :)

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•I just learned 37% of Americans fear vaccinating their dog will cause the dog to develop autism. 😐English
14·2 hours agoWhat, how? They are very loving and emotional. The autistic people ive met are very intellectual and not very emotional… Very much living in their heads. But I have only met like… 3…or something. :)
But yeah, with my experience, I wouldnt put autistic people in the deep compassionate loving category. Maybe im wrong.

1·2 hours agoI watch it when I want to really lose my hope in the future for humanity. That feeling of frustration watching those people… Very interesting.
I guess its better to feel sympathy. Because I know each person is on their own little journey here. But its just so primitive. :)

10·2 hours agoAlways wanted to see a modern country becoming dystopian though. Could be a big hit on tripadvisor. Once a beacon for freedom in the western world, the US decided it really liked how North Korea is treating its people and decided to do the same using its love affair with big tech psychos like Sam Altman and Elon Musk.

You just still have belief in the US government being good and want to protect kids. Thats nice.

61·3 hours agoProbably bigger than that - they want to make all of us feel watched. But yeah, its worse if you are in a group the US government is currently oppressing. The way things are going, I guess we all will be in some kind of a group like that sooner or later. Like “social media terrorist” for having negative opinions about the US online.

2·4 hours agoI think they are all going further and further into madness. Us government and big tech together.
They dont seem to understand that themselves. The consciousness of wanting to control by force, in combination with big tech dystopian dreams of raising humans with Ai, and watching everybody in real time… Its a very strong difference in that kind of consciousness compared to a good person on this planet.
Ive lost interest in building technology solutions myself. Because its just about ads and control now. Its just the wrong kind of consciousness in charge of humanity. Tech isnt helping us, its making us more and more helpless and depressed.

13·4 hours agoI just want to know what they put in the water in America to make everyone fight eachother… Who cares about autism in that context… :)
Even though i know its about capitalism and people are probably stressed to death trying to survive in that shitty country.

6·5 hours agoI think they are not even interested in any of that. Its just a method of control. Continuing to apply pressure to people, reminding them to bow down to authority.
They can already get the social media history from any big tech company. :)

Yeah exactly. So it keeps everyone in their place, powerless to change anything within the structure that exist. Exactly as intended.

7·2 days agoWhat do you really need to be happy? Somewhere to live where you feel calm and safe, money for food and bills.
The reason a lot of people want more and more is because they compare themselves to others, and then they need a life style to support that luxary house or whatever it is. Meaning they are probably not happy because now their job is eating up all their energy and time.
That fixed budget is what they always say. The budget for the company is their problem, not yours.

Yeah im doing open source, that still feels good. :)
