Who was the party threatening to use the military on their opposition? The democrats don’t have faith this will work, their only hope to avoid a night of long knives is to pray they were wrong. I don’t think they were though

Identity politics? That’s a republican issue. They bring it up. The most democrats do is block, but all the punches are thrown by the right in campaigns. I didn’t even hear a gun control proposal this round.
I get so frustrated at the poor messaging. Glen younkin stood on stage against mcauffee and straight up lied about crt in school, and no body called him out in it.
I blame the smallest minority: jill stein
Can’t wait four the next 3 years of nothing from her.
I guess I forgot to mention it, but he has also always had a temper.
I added in some paragraphs
Let me think about what I know about a trump supporter in my family who wasn’t one in 2016, but was die hard in 2020 and 2024.
Nothing has ever been his fault. He used to buy into supernatural urban legend stuff. I don’t know if he still does. He had no job in 2020 but still thinks he was doing better than in 2016, so his own employment either doesn’t matter to his well-being, or he’s detached from reality. I mean I think it’s the second.
He didn’t used to be racist (10 years ago), but I’m pretty sure he quotes fbi crime statistics without context now. I’m not sure how you reach that. He used to be moderate or even left of american center, but now all the news that is not Tim Poole is fake.
Oh and he was part of an ayn rand sex cult for a year there. He still believes her stuff despite having been kicked out by the leader.
I don’t think he’s newly mobilized though so whoever was this go around may be different. I don’t know if it matters now. I feel like organizing may get some crack down in the near future. Best case is he’s so incompetent that he can’t implement the policies he said he will and people can vote freely in the future.
I think the important part is that it’s florida that’d be removing them, and the rest of it that I didn’t copy is how florida restores them. This is Florida’s constitution. If we interpreted that way, he can never get them back. Florida took them away and he cannot have them back until NY restores them, which they can’t
That’s the thing I’ve read before, but does
“No person convicted of a felony, or adjudicated in this or any other state to be mentally incompetent, shall be qualified to vote or hold office until restoration of civil rights or removal of disability. Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, any disqualification from voting arising from a felony conviction shall terminate and voting rights shall be restored upon completion of all terms of sentence including parole or probation.”
mean that it excludes it when the other state doesn’t have a rule removing rights? Maybe a lawyer can explain it to me, but following the links to the actual law seems to contradict what’s on the page from how I understand it. Also what’s in the page seemed to get edited there as soon as people started asking about it.
I know. I’m just annoyed that no news source has backed up this claim with the actual law that supposedly exempts him.
The thing is, which law? I can’t find it. Florida’s website redirects to their constitution and their constitution. Doesn’t. Say. That.
It doesn’t carve out that exception, and there would need to be a law that automatically reinstated him instead of just never removing him. Because a law that doesn’t remove him, violates their constitution.
He should have been convicted at the second impeachment trial, but McConnell made up another rule that never existed before.
Did he run this by his lawyer? Or any lawyer? Maybe his dog?
They forgot that “he’s not hurting the right people”. I wonder if that woman remembers she said that.
I wad thinking of air force one when I heard this
The ven diagram of people who view their political identity as “gamer” and the people who hold the thickness of Tracer’s ass as a key issue are very much a circle.
I don’t see him bringing up the “dead vote” this time around. Maybe that’s because the four or five from last election… went to him.
It’s the Eric Cartman party. They’ve been saying things like this for years and a single taste of their own medicine (from an old man who probably didn’t mean to give it) and I hear Cartman falling on the ground crying.
There is a sci-fi story called "The stars my destination ". It’s a pretty controversial story. The main character is a horrible person who never faces consequences, but you aren’t supposed to like him. I’ve only read the summary myself, but as I understand it some of the bad things he does are only possible because of the ways society keeps women “safe” whether they like it or not.
If we are breaking it to that point, then he’ll just run again and kill any one who runs against him. Officially of course. That way it can’t be a crime. Or he could just retire like sulla did after dealing the mortal blow to the republic. Will it really matter at that point if everything is “fixed”
