Video scalers my dude. Proprietary yes, but Chinese is questionable. Crestron, Extron, QSC, all major video products based out of the US, tho I believe only Crestron manufacturers in the US.
Lol it’s a joke.

Normal enough I deal with it on 2 separate machines. One new and store bought, unmolested by IT lockdown bs, and the other I built and use really just for gaming. Idk man. I just feel like Windows has gotten worse and worse and I’m thinking of hopping back to Linux now that gaming is more accessible on it thanks to Proton, but I can’t completely get away from windows.
It doesn’t. I bought it with a company credit card and I don’t let IT touch it. I gotta do a lot of stuff in the field so I don’t have time to call IT every time I need to install a software update update.
The File Explorer behavior is something I’ve been noticing lately. I do have a number of cloud accounts connected for work, 2 One Drive, 1 dropbox, with a shit ton of files and folders (most not sync’d locally) and I wonder if File Explorer is looking through those when it opens.
Idk man. I have a brand new laptop my work got me and I notice it. Windows is just plain bad now. It’s like I go to save a file and the file browser window opens and I’m stuck sitting there waiting for minutes. It’s like I’m suddenly 10 again when you’d turn on your pc, go make breakfast, come back and hope your PC finished booting. Does it both on my work laptop running 11 and my PC at home running 10.
Horses however only require grass, hay, etc, are self driving to an extent and can return home if needed, and have less environment impact than a car.
Hopefully there’s a good ren fair close to you to give you enough opportunities to show this stuff off. Love seeing your posts.
Just missing the arrow through the eye slot
I’d add to this and say you need:
A Usenet client such as SabNZBD (like qbittorrent or similar downloading client, but for Usenet)
A Usenet provider such as Astraweb, Newshosting, UsenetServer, Easynews, etc (or a paid subscription giving you access to a number of servers, kind of like a private torrent site)
And a tracker or indexer such as NZBGeek, NZB Finder, omgwtfnzbs, DrunkenSlug, etc (similar to a library index that helps you find what you want in the sea of information)
You can set services like these up with programs that use these tools to pull what you want automatically, such as the Arrs (Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr, etc) or you can manually search either the provider directly through their own search engine, or through an indexer’s refined search engine.
Pass throughs cost a little more, but the time you save is 100% worth it. When you feed the wires into the head they come out the front so you can check the color code and the crimper trims them perfectly to length. So much easier than trying to trim the wires to the perfect length and peaking through the head to see if they lined up right.
Here’s what I have in my pack and think covers about everything you’d need to do most anything.
Plus a good inspection flashlight. Milwaukee and Klein have some good ones of different kinds.
You could also buy some Klein or Milwaukee cable strippers, but I find I use my snips more often.
I’d also recommend getting a pair of Klein or Milwaukee Lineman’s Pliers with the fish tape channel. Super useful for a number of things, like banging on stuff or reaming pipes/sleeves.
Note that I list two different RJ45 crimp tools. One is for standard RJ45 heads, the other is for pass through heads. The one for pass throughs only works on pass throughs as it has a cutting edge at the end of the head that will hit and nick the end of a regular RJ45. Personally I own both, but I always buy pass throughs as they save time.
Not necessary, but useful to have depending on what you do:
I’m not sure. Every time I click one they have those stupid tags in red at the top. They look like they’re a click bait / sensationalist tabloid.
Yes
Yeah that makes more sense. Thought the MMO by the same name from many years back was making a return for a second.
I agree, I bought them on sale a while back
