Comment105@lemm.eeto Technology@beehaw.org•The Trump Administration Accidentally Texted Me Its War Plans5·3 months agoNext war plan is going to happen in an X thread. They’re gonna @ eachother about seizing Toronto and nuking Vancouver.
They’ll launch the nuke from a submarine, They’ll trigger their own warning system, they’ll panic, they’ll think it’s a Japanese nuke, they’ll launch retaliatory strikes, the Philippines will be unrecognizable.
The Toronto invasion force won’t have crossed the border before the entire admin is in bunkers and not communicating. They’ll be an army on standby to invade an ally, and they’ll hear the admin atomically spooked itself into giving China their sea claims in the worst way, a way nobody is happy with.
Democrats will respond by suggesting that other Democrats should consider launching an investigation on an accelerated timeline, with only 3 short months (~0.903 Metric months) to be completed and brought before a committee hearing that already has three notices that members will be absent, unable to attend due to family functions and vacation plans.
Streaming revenues will be stable, Call of Duty MAUs will not fluctuate notably, Starbucks will close 8 locations, most celebrities will be done tweeting/blueskying about how it’s fucked up. JD Vance will call someone the N word on live TV to thunderous applause.

They’re already working overtime to separate the userbases by IP to prevent too much cross communication. There will be no more of this unless additional action is taken to strengthen the connection and shut down censorship efforts.

We’re not hitting 100k MAU, we’re not improving the internet, we’re not dethroning reddit. We’re just existing alongside them, in their shadow, with a slow front page of largely mid nonsense that sticks around for a couple days, with several communities’ comments mostly coming from 1-5 “power”-users.
And people want it to stay that way.
Comment105@lemm.eeto Technology@beehaw.org•The Fediverse is getting its own TikTok competitor called Loops11·8 months agoYeah okay, so it sounds like he’s the kind of guy who’ll build a framework, or most of it, and won’t ever really become capable of hosting a lot of videos at a watchable quality.
Technically he’ll probably have built something basically functional the community could rally behind and get going. But that won’t happen, because the people who care about the Fediverse are few, insufficiently resourceful, and most importantly don’t care about shorts.
Yeah I don’t get the drama with this one. Unless you’re some disappointed investor.
For me, with no stake in this, it’s fun. A bit weird and bad, but I’ve seen worse stuff. I feel like someone tried to do something interesting with that “Bird that wants to be a Plane” video.
In my mind I pictured the bird as Sora/GPT and the plane as the theorized incredible and perfect general AI behemoth.
Imagining the current AI as dumb, incapable and small. Not really able to understand the plane, only sort of, in it’s little bird way.

Artifacts of that usage may have been archived, like their statements and voting choices. For example, if IA stored a page where Jens Stoltenberg called a polandball comic “funny and accurate” in 2019. That would be bad for Gaza.
