Interesting.
Interesting.
Defederation may be the only solution to the problem without changing the source code to allow for better administration tools.
To me it sounds like they’re advocating for decentralization. Defederation means less traffic for an instance. If the majority of users are already on one instance, defederation could end it. I imagine most people want an instance where they can reach the most people. If they, understandably, pick the largest instance, it may not be long before it holds all the power, in terms of user acivity or count, and becomes the center.
I can’t either. “Allow” and “block” has always made more sense to me, though, so I wouldn’t mind the change.
The new Downloadables and Server Shop add to Discord’s server subscriptions as ways for creators to monetize their servers. Server subscriptions are getting an improvement, too: the company is adding tier templates to make it easier to decide what subscriptions to offer to your community.
Yes.
This one is a more general store and seems more in line with what some creators already use Discord servers for. Subscriptions for access to content.
I doubt it. Users may already be familiar with these features and would see it a way to make processes more seamless. Server subscriptions would mean you don’t have to go through Patreon.
Multiple bars and a breakdown for each would be fantastic.
