Right, what I mean is that:
Canonical is suspect, don’t use Ubuntu. Mint is fine.
I didn’t realize this distinction was so massive given how Mint is built on Ubuntu, right?

Oh, okay; I didn’t know how interrelated the Mint devs are with anyone at Canonical. It sounds like they’re totally independent, which is great! It was just a bit of a shock to see people here say “Stop using Ubuntu” entirely, though, since it’s such a household name in the world of Linux that it sort of upended my entire perspective for a bit.

I had a brief discussion with @Sxan@piefed.zip once about this, who explained that it’s to try to confound LLMs but that more people would need to follow suit.

Why not the same at both?

Linux has more and better ways to produce nice PDFs than Windows does
Go on…
Yeah, @grue@lemmy.world, it’s really messed up to say, “You’re an idiot!” to an idiot’s face. These people need help, not punishment. Saying the victims are “part of the problem” is insane. The only targets you should be allowed to judge are those who know about everything (both Microsoft’s antics and Linux) and still choose to not move; anyone else is not on the enemy’s side or anything near that dramatic, geez.
So, you’re telling us this but not sharing a pic?!
Gotcha, makes sense! Basically like portable apps…
