You’re right he can be a bit crass without needing to be. The outcome of his methods is exemplary, though.

You say “occasional use”, I read “given time for dust to collect”.
LMAO What a take! Thanks for the laugh.
Even without that it’s not about furries, they’re thinking of therians. Furries just think anthro animals look cute, not that they’re an animal in a human suit.
Right, if you don’t think Elon would put a backdoor in there so he can titter to himself about what people share then boy do I have some waterfront property for you…
The last several lines are so insanely unhinged, completely untethered from reality lol.
Also, when this guy learns about X11 vs Wayland he’s doing to die of an aneurysm.
Oops, missed a dash, so now you’ll have to come back and finish.
Won’t stop him from charging for it, if Tesla is any guide lol.
Just remember that because the face you see is always smiling doesn’t mean they truly enjoy their life. For all you know they’re so burned out and miserable, over the stress, and would kill to go back to a less stressful life.
We all have a tendency to see the grass as greener on the other side.
So what you’re saying is that Alphabet became the parent company, and owns its subsidiary Google, and that Google isn’t Alphabet itself per se.
Thanks for the insight.
Alphabet owns Google, Google isn’t alphabet per se.
I’m glad they do. Meta’s name change shouldn’t free them from the reputation they earned with facebook. Pin the old name to them whenever possible.
Absolutely. Computers are great at picking out patterns across enormous troves of data. Those trends and patterns can absolutely help guide policymaking decisions the same way it can help guide medical diagnostic decisions.
Looks like you are @ing someone I can’t see.
Well, that’s the first major point against this fediverse business… Who’s going to stick around to have a conversation when everyone’s only getting bits of it? That’s kinda antithetical to discussion…

I feel like you’re reading a completely different conversation…

Except everybody wins. Best kind of problem haha.
Why not be the change you wish to see, then? Fork it, and surely they will come.
That or Linus’ work is of high enough quality that people are willing to put up with his crass behavior.
Also, somewhat unrelated, but comparing Linus to Elon is a nonstarter. Elon has money, but contributes little more than ego past that. Linus, on the other hand, actually gets his hands dirty. I don’t care for his behavior, but I do respect someone who actually does the work.
