That makes sense, it’s probably the same people writing both messages.
Check r/conservative and you get a fair idea.
Looking good! I don’t want to think about how long it took to get all those drawers spaced and leveled properly but the effort was worth it.
Don’t make the same mistake I did. Get a backup in place before using ZFS. Using ZFS and RAIDing your drives together makes them a singular failure point. If ZFS fucks up, you’re done. The only way to mitigate this is having another copy in a different pool and preferably different machine. I got lucky that my corrupted ZFS pool was still readable and I could copy files off, but others have not been so lucky.
To expand on what Grappling said, I’ll give you an example. A few years ago the city repaved a decrepit section of road into a smooth and wide open road that is wide enough for 4 lanes but made into 2 wide ones with massive shoulders. There are no pedestrians on this road and you can comfortably go 80-100km/h. The speed limit they set? 50. While it’s not every road, it is definitely a lot of roads that get treated like this. It results in getting very comfortable with breaking the speed limits because the speed limits are stupid not matched to the designs of the roads.
… oh. It begins then. Thank you for the multiple links!
Uh, I missed this one. Someone got the backstory?
Been sleeping the majority of the last 36 hours in between emptying my stomach, so not too hot. I really should not go into work today but I probably will anyway.
I would think many servers that accept donations don’t rely on them. But taking donations while it is optional can stave off the time when donations would be necessary.
Removing news from your regular feeds or taking a break from them for a week is chill, everyone should do that here and there. But don’t bury your head in the sand, you should keep an eye on it even if that is only browsing a dedicated news feed every week or two. Ignorance and complacency is how we got Trump 2024 with people actively voting against themselves.
Good reasoning all 'round! Although Lemmy.ca doesn’t require you to be Canadian, so would be a decent recommendation for any NA user. As long as they don’t mind some more Canada posting in the Local feed.
I understood the reference post as I’m far too deep into degenerate internet culture, but I have definitely experienced what you say. I think sometimes people write in a way that simply doesn’t welcome people not on their wavelength. And that’s okay!.. as long as they don’t expect broad understanding.
I’ve never had a Windows machine that can stay on longer than ~3 days before developing weird behaviour so it’s off right now until I get home.
Not against this feature, but this quote made me laugh:
… once this is in place, people won’t have to scour the internet for sourcing subtitles to their favorite movies, shows, or even anime.
As if MTL will get anywhere near the nuance of a properly made human translation.
Or Thunder
Does “all” remove every type of segment? Because that seems excessive for most people, there is a lot of filler/etc sections that are over-zealously tagged.
Listen to yourself speak and tweak a couple of words to make it a right winger saying it. Perhaps you might realise how similar you sound.
the entire concept of how liberals react to information is so foreign to me I’ve spent years trying to figure out if they’re lying or are they actually believe it.
Sounds exactly like what I’d read on r/conservative.
Is it so strange to entertain the thought of talking with people outside your bubble? Not everyone enjoys day after day of single-opinion threads and enjoy having well-intentioned discussions with other people. Political movements would never go anywhere if they never left a basement.
Especially as many Lemmy instances don’t want to host or moderate NSFW content. I don’t blame them, but I’m also doubtful pornlemmy alone could handle the load (pun intended).
