The “real” fun subtext here is in how desperate Cain actually is to be liked. And he also comes at it from all the wrong angles and with strong “no, it’s the kids who are wrong” energy when things don’t play out as expected.

In the context of this communities, you are already here, just Google “fediverse replacement for xxx”. You won’t find a fediverse version of Amazon or any data storage service, those don’t really make sense for fediration. You’ll want to talk to other communities. Or search them. This has been talked about a lot.
TV series on Apple where Soviets land on the Moon first and a whole new timeline of events is explored. It’s really good.
I remember it being some kind of “mistake” that they “fixed” once it made the news, but yeah. 😑
She also intentionally avoids cleaning leading up to the full moon to add a layer of “Oh my God there’s so much that needs cleaning” anxiety paralysis.

20·4 months agoMy big fear with this stuff is security. It just seems so “easy”, without knowledgeable people, for AI to write a product that functions from a user perspective but is wide open to attack.

1·4 months agoI’ve seen it off and on in random Lemmy and Reddit talks, along with some of the usual “best xyz” article search results, that you take with a grain of salt. Though in these days where even Lemmy has its boting I take dang near everything with a bit of salt. Lucky me that I’m a bit of a salt fiend.
Emphasis on it being conversations for true blue noobs haven’t dabbled and may not be very technical. To your point Mint and Ubuntu are right there next to it. By way of comparison I actually use Cachy and it’s not “hard” but I would not give it to my parents.

There’s always a niche instance but my example gives it a valid, but disposable, connection to complete setup, it can totally ping that server there at the beginning and give the all clear. And then you turn off that disposable Wi-Fi signal.

Getting away from more direct requests I can absolutely imagine AI offering passwords/suggestions as part of a coding session. Including “temp” passwords that look secure so “why bother changing it?”.
