Ouuh this is a fun one. I find that floppy disks look somewhat similar to SD-cards. Do you think the majority of kids (18 and younger) would recognize SD cards?

I was a teen, staying up late, probably watching videos on my phone when I heard arguing from down the street. I peeked out of my bedside window. I couldn’t really see them, but it was a couple who got lost at night. I listened to them arguing for some time, annoyed at first, trying to figure out if I could help them somehow, or could at least let them know to tone it down. I couldn’t make everything out, but I believe at one point the woman shouted “hit him”. It took me a moment to summon the courage to call the police, wondering if this was really an emergency, but as they were still arguing I called it in, nervously shaking.
I told them that I felt the woman was threatening the man, and they agreed to send someone over. Ten minutes later they got back into the car and drove off before the police arrived.
This. So happy it’s not just me xD

They don’t dislike the genre overall. They just came across many podcasts they didn’t enjoy and are asking for recommendations based on their specified criteria.

Dr. Mike’s The Checkup is interesting. He is usually very empathic but critical of his guests views and as far as I know unedited. just an hour of conversation about (usually) medical topics. Sometimes more US specific

Hardly a hot take really…

Sorry to disappoint you personally. I hope the other comments spark joy in you.

I fucking hate AI in HR/hiring. I try so hard not to spread my personal data to LLMs/AI ghuls and the moment I apply for a job I need to survive I have to accept that the HR department’s AI sorting hat now knows a shit ton about me. I just hope these are closed systems. if anyone from a HR department knows more, please let me know

nope, that has been posted before. or we are both tripping

brother/sister/sibling, that’s a neat sketch. You have potential. People from Uni have started with a similar skill level and are now fucking smashing their artwork. I understand that arts are mentally hard at times, when you feel nothing works and you don’t improve fast enough. Give yourself some credit.
Now you are saying you’ll be using the output for your book. Is it important to you, that it is 100% your work? Is it important to you to not misrepresent your skills? Then declare that and how AI was used. Will you monetize said book? Then there are a few legal things to consider (in Germany for example anything an AI generates for you is per definition not your creation and cannot be copyrighted by you. If you make changes to the image/text/video before publishing you can at least secure some rights on it)
I am not going to rate it as slop or not. If you need an illustration, and you need it now, who am I to tell you that this is not a legit tool, no matter how I myself feel about it.
I suppose if they want to discuss this with you, try to get to the root cause for their nervousness. Maybe they’re on the ace spectrum, it’s a good opportunity to check if they were mistreated by someone. What self image do they have? E.g. Do they think they are ugly and are therefore selfconcious?
Whatever the outcome, let them know that it’s okay to be nervous, and to not rush these things. And that they can change their mind at any time, and they too, can say no, and it means no.
Wow, I always thought cats would overthrow humanity in a cool way. This sucks.

Yes. I miss calling friends on the landline and asking them to meet up. Being an adult, people live further away than they did in school, so it won’t be as easy, but yeah. I feel we’d be more willing to meet in person than on e.g. discord.

So the second one is like the things some squids do? Yes. That one please. I always wanted to blend into the background and spook my friends >:D Endless mischief!

Sometimes challenging yourself works for me. Look up a writing exercise e.g.: Write a text without using pronouns. Set your clock to 10 minutes amd write whatever comes to mind. No right or wrong.

Subtly? Ha! I don’t get games if I don’t dig the graphics. The first thing I do when picking new books is look at the dazzling cover art, and then ignore them, because the books I enjoy are usually designed plainly. So yes. A lot. Aesthetics are a communication tool after all, and interests usually come with an aesthetic attached

I’m not sure. That’s why I think talking to social services/ counselor could be beneficial. They know what programs are available where OP is living
Sorry for not submitting my homework on time. The squirrel took it away, never to be seen again.
