It’s unfortunately an issue with Lemmy itself. Instances have limitations in what they actually see and how they connect and that is one of them. See my recent post; similar issue and cause.
Funny enough, an artist called Fallout Boy did recently do a We Didn’t Start The Fire parody to try and be more up to date on content.
That said, aside from being completely out of order, it’s controversial for some of its… questionable lyrical choices, for lack of a better word.
I honestly don’t mind this. This is really useful for small creators in not needing to do workarounds for Patreon or Patreon roles and this makes it easier by being baked into Discord itself. I get the worry of stuff being paywalled but since it is entirely set by the server owner/creator, it would be something to take up with them instead. The 10% cut is a bit rough but I know other platforms also take a cut, but I’m not too sure if 10% is high or low. That would be my own biggest concern since it only makes sense if it is comparable or lower than other platforms like Patreon.
It works for me, but some instances need you to select a language for your post or comment to be made. It could be an issue related to that.

I’m a bit skeptical myself of this post, but it is being truthful about the Gavin Casdorph name appearing. I know this because I checked to find contact information to send an email with feedback, and I saw that name listed there and had trouble figuring out if it was a typo or if I was sending an email to the right place.
I’m not saying that OP is correct or that I believe the post yet, but that name part is entirely truthful and it’s definitely changed since then seeing the app details on Testflight.
