I sea what you did there!

Probably like me and our instance, it runs as an extra on a company server, there’s no risk of it going down, it’s negligible for costs.
It’s just been one of the most popular months for vacation, gone on vacation, will update Lemmy instance to latest version when get around to it.
Currently? I just do without it and replace that surfing with other content.
Don’t worry about those asshats! You guys are doing great work, Lemmy is awesome!
Great read thank you. Seems Twitter just blowing smoke.
Woah there, keep it in your pants Fapper!
No, it isn’t.
I use Linode, I don’t think it’s cheap. Is it priced ok and my team and I just order too much?
What happens with Meta may not be exactly EEE, but that is the best constructive example to help understand the dangers of things that could happen.
Whatever happens with Meta will be new and be its own tale. Hopefully minimally impactful, like you may think, but that’s not for certain.
Awesome thank you! Sorry delayed reply had a busy day
Thank you for the introduction to BookStack, I needed an app for a book/Wiki and that looks great. You use it and like it?
Can you share that? Would love to use it for our instance. Previously was subbing to stuff manually to populate our small instance and it was a pain.
Me too, yesterday I was telling people wefwef is best, but today I’m all loving memmy and can’t decide. Spoiled for choice! Really impressed with these devs
Some instances like ours at Lemmy.pro ask simple questions to try and filter out bots etc. Other admin options include requiring email address be used and the captcha difficulty level. Bad thing is if you enable these, places like browse.feddit or whatever it’s called list your registrations as being closed. They’re not, they just restricted with a small challenge.
I’m using Memmy on iOS right now and I swear it’s as good as Apollo was, it looks great. Also a fan of wefwef.app. Anybody considering Lemmy can be ok using third party apps, it’s all fine.
Are there more detailed instructions somewhere? I learned python for like a week and not sure what to do exactly
Yeah they really need to update that binary presentation. Our instance says no registrations, but we do have them open, you just gotta pass the requirements: email, sign up question and captcha.
Federated services are like email. Just like your email address isn’t just “whoisearth” it needs the @gmail.com at the end to be the exact one to reach you, same as in Lemmy, it’s your name plus your instance that matters.
We’re using it and it’s fast and the Element client is great.
What about Tiffany, she likes to travel.
