My wife isn’t allowed to ride anymore And in the last two months I will probably be there every day to muck out the box, feed him and do some ground work with him. I use it, but to be honest I did not do a comprehensive comparison. I like it mostly for the fine grained website control. For work and some personal stuff I often look for code and can push websites like GitHub to appear more often. Or I can block Pinterest in my search results. I tried to do this in SearXNG, but this was too much of a hassle so in a way I pay kagi for convenience. I recently got a new job and will evaluate in the coming months if it is still worth the money, but right now I am satisfied. Nobody else I know would pay for a search engine, so I can understand the stance, but I am really fed up with all the advertising and enshitification so I thought why not give it a try. And yes, because it was recommended here.

I don’t know if this is country specific, but I can just download all my chats as .txt files and do so regularly, as I don’t trust Meta not to delete anything and only keeping the last x years or something like that.

I have often thought about how I will do this with my child. Fortunately, I still have some time before this becomes relevant, but in the end it’s like politics, isn’t it? It’s always about the tug of war between safety and freedom. As a father, I naturally pull in the direction of safety, but how hard can I pull? I don’t know if I’m too naive, but maybe I can achieve a better result with education than with bans? If I ban something, my children should understand why there is a ban or restriction. I would also be prepared to engage in a discussion because I naturally think differently to my child. I hope that I will do everything right, I hated it as a child when there were bans without justification.

Why not just let call sounds on and the other off? I have the call sound on so I can search for my phone and hear when someone calls me. All other sounds, like notification sounds are off. Nowadays only my parents are calling me, every other person just texts me, so this works for me, but depends on your circumstances.

This was me with Reddit, my worst days were 8 hours a day. Now I spent 30 mins per day at most on Lemmy.
