All right I tried out the live app, to connect my phone to my desktop. Couldn’t get it to work. Tried the link method both ways, once normal and once animals. Tried the QR code too. All it does is bring me to a “contacts” page, which is essentially the same screen, or to a “new peer” one. Tried looking at the docs but didn’t see what I might be doing wrong there. Do certain plug ins mess it up like ublock origin? Anything else?

It’s an interesting idea. If it can make it easier to share files with friends then I’d be in. Voice and video have always been challenging as I understand it, so I’m expecting that to come later. Very ambitious, but cool if you can pull it off!

It’s not bad, but personally I prefer to keep my task bar separate and horizontal, which I don’t think would work with this. Plus my ultra-wide would make it more work to reach than the top and bottom.

I’d post my desktop but it’s been getting so buggy lately. Task bar flickering, widgets getting squished. But I can’t even look into those yet because I’m trying to figure out why my desktop sessions aren’t being saved or restored anymore. Is this just life using Tumbleweed?

First distro I got to work was LibraNet. Easy to set up and use, ran by a father-son team. Died when the father passed away. 😥

What about security benefits? Even though most of the security-relevant code for Vivaldi browser is in Chromium, there is also some security-relevant code in the UI. If you think that specific security-relevant parts of the UI should be open-sourced to make Vivaldi more trustworthy, let us know, and we’ll consider putting it out as part of our code bundles, so you can check it for yourselves.

It not much consolation, but it’s better than nothing. As it stands though, FF still has too many problems for me. I’ll have to see how this ad blocking thing shakes out though, might have to revisit my decision then.

If by Opera you mean as it was back in version 12 before it got sold to some chinese company and completely changed, then yes. Nothing to do with what opera is now.

It would be easy enough to put a toggle in the settings for a ‘classic’ mode. I can see him doing that.
