5·3 days agoIt’s literally a parody of lifetime movies made by lifetime as a joke.

6·3 days agoI never understood why we tolerate the whole recipe site bullshit. It’s been a thing my entire life and it would take no effort to make a recipe site that just gives the recipe. You could when keep doing the 8000 word essays for the search engines and just hide it in the background or something.

11·4 days agoI have my jellyfin running on ubuntu server on a 12 year old PC with a bunch of salvaged HDDs added in, plugged into my standard home internet. I have like 10 people I share it with. So far it’s not made a noticeable dent in either the internet usage or the electric.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What’s the dumbest thing your fish did?
18·7 days agoWe used to buy bulk baitfish to give to my dad’s Parana. Most of them they’d eat, but every so often we’d get one or two bluegill that just decided they were parana. They’d all move in a pack together, the bluegill would help the Parana hunt, it was crazy.
The wildest thing was eventually the mixed school would eventually start to turn on the smallest as the food fish dwindled. Straight canibalism on the part of the bluegill. Sometimes the bluegill would be too big for the school to finish, so they’d eat the back half and the front would still be swimming with the gang like it wasn’t just yesterday’s dinner.

7·7 days agoThe unreasonable part is where it’s intended to be useful information for anyone outside of her specific sphere. If I do anything you and her describe, I’d be fired the next day. That’s even considering that my current job is the most lenient and acomodating place I’ve ever worked.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How much of your interest in something is subtly based on esthetics?
10·12 days agoDepends on the something. I’m a big fan of 70’s furniture for the look specifically. The rich tones, the wood and brass, it’s damn fine. Same for 3D printing, I love the look and feel of it.

14·14 days agoI think I would respect it more if it was this. There’s this amazing sense of uncanny and this creeping dread that comes from seeing these. Like slowly realizing that the patch of woods in front of you is a predator and your brain hasn’t quite broken the camouflage yet.
It’s an absolute shame that ai has made this so hated because a true master artist capuring that feeling will forever be assumed to be ai.

Way cooler than human boxing.
