I guess my point is less about the party specifically, are more that your country might not be collapsing quite so quickly if 49% of the population didn’t feel massively disenfranchised every 4 years, and if there were actually incentives for collaboration and compromise between different view points
I vote Green.
Because I live in a country with an actual proportional representation system, so my vote for a minor party still allows the major party that I most closely align with to gain power
I’m just a little sad that there are people in the world who have lived such empty, passionless lives that they can’t conceive of being so excited and invested in something that they could lose their self control for a moment
If you can’t afford to pay your staff enough for them to want to work for you, then your business has failed - you just haven’t run out of cash yet.
Pay them properly, or admit that you don’t have a viable business model.
Even assuming 25% of Twitter users are bots (probably a significant over estimate), and even if half of Twitter’s users quit in the next year, it would still be 150x bigger than mastodon
(Mastodon has ~1m MAUs, compared to ~421m for Twitter)
One of the single greatest things that happened in my lifetime imo. Without the breakup we’d be in a similar situation as the US - crappy service, sky high prices, no incentive to invest in maintenance or upgrades
As an additional point; “weird” isn’t a slur. A slur is an expression where the very words themselves are considered obscene - a slur is offensive, even when it is used to describe someone or something according to its strict definition.
There is no context where describing someone as a “removed” or a “retard” isn’t offensive. “Weird” isn’t like that, as you’ve pointed out - it’s being used as a simple insult, and it’s persistent because it seems to really annoy the people it is directed at
Edit: to further my point, one of my examples is so objectionable that it was automatically filtered from my post
Meanwhile, JD Vance sits in the corner sweating
And not just cos he’s sitting on a particularly sexy couch
Digging into it a bit more, it seems like I might be better off getting a 12gb 3060 - similar price point, but much newer silicon

Hah, I’ve pretty recently picked up an Epyc 7452, so not really looking for a new platform right now.
The Arc cards are interesting, will keep those in mind
Thanks for the tips! I’m looking for something multi-purpose for LLM/stable diffusion messing about + transcoder for jellyfin - I’m guessing that there isn’t really a sweet spot for those 3. I don’t really have room or power budget for 2 cards, so I guess a P40 is probably the best bet?
Personally I can’t wait for a few good bankruptcies so I can pick up a couple of high end data centre GPUs for cents on the dollar
Won’t somebody think of the giant corporations!?
If only we lived in a world so simple as to allow the whims of managers, customers and third parties to be completely definable in UML
Good thing there hasn’t been any remotely exploitable security bugs in any of the mail system components in the 6 years since Debian 7 went EoL
Yeah, I understand - fwiw, RNZ is the national (government backed) broadcaster, and has an explicit mandate to elevate the perspectives of iwi. Black Sheep specifically has done a few episodes about the musket wars and land confiscation that really don’t pull punches.
Another that might fit your brief: https://www.abc.net.au/listen/programs/stuff-the-british-stole - from the ABC, and for the most part does a really good job of setting up the story with some historical context, then letting the people actually effected tell the rest
For my dock at least, the connection between the dock and the laptop is a thunderbolt connection, not USB. If you are able to drive the dock off a USB 3 type A port on both your laptop and your pc then yeah, the switch might work, but you will probably be limiting the resolution and refresh rate that you can drive your monitors at
I have the ugreen USB switch - does what it says on the box, not had any issues with it. I’ve not tested if it can actually get the fast USB throughput that it advertises, I only use it with keyboard/mouse.
Yup - anyone who is likely to try and hit the US is far enough away is going to be using long range ballistic missiles, and it’s been pretty conclusively demonstrated that it’s technically feasible to intercept a single missile, it sure isn’t reliable enough to be a reasonable deterrent or cheap enough to build enough launchers to give you any amount of coverage.
Iron dome works because Israel is small, with a concentrated population, and is being attacked with small, short range rockets that are easy to spot on radar - that isn’t a likely scenario for the US to face
