I don’t understand why everyone assumes using a VPN means paying for a third party. I have Wireguard deployed in my NAS and I always have that VPN connection active on my phone to be able to access my LAN deployed services remotely, Jellyfin for example.

I’ve just cancelled my Crunchyroll sub, not only because of the user content deletion but because they lock many translations and animes out of Spain and the quality of some subs are shit generated with AI. My new streaming service is nyaa.

I have been thinking if it is possible to integrate ActivityPub with static websites like personal blogs. Maybe that could replace social media for something more personal and curated.

For privacy reasons, not using Windows is best.

Maybe this will sound unrelated but have you seen a PC infected with tons of malware?

The web browsers tend to be the most affected apps by malware and if the user doesn’t want to reinstall, forcing the web browser to change the default search engine helps a lot, because it is literally impossible to do that manually when the PC is full of shit.

Other than that, yeah, Microsoft doing anti-consumer things, as always.
