I didn’t say anything about how it started, I said what it means as it pertains to aesthetics, which was what I felt was the primary root of the question.

Never
Typically speaking in the aesthetic sense, _punk means taking a certain look to its extreme. Cyberpunk of course infusing everything with computer technology, steampunk infusing everything with the looks of a steam powered machine, etc.
Starfield was described once as having its aesthetic “NASApunk,” which sounded really cool to me when I heard it. I expected white and black, gold foil, etc. Which isn’t really how the end product ended which was a bit disappointing, but the point remained that calling it “NASApunk” had me immediately expecting a certain aesthetic.
In the case of Frostpunk, I am not sure. It takes place in a frozen world, but it doesn’t have an aesthetic to fit that name so it may just be a title.
Im pretty sure none of Jupiters moons would survive. But I suppose if they did perhaps they would change classification from moon to planet, but I think planet classification now also depends on size, so depending on size they still may not qualify. I don’t know if any of Jupiter’s moons are larger thaan Pluto, Ceres, etc.
Less tolerance, that’s for sure.
Lemmy is very hostile to people that don’t have views or thinking that aligns with most of its users. More hostile than Reddit, I would go to say. Whether you were earnest or not never mattered in this situation, you were getting downvoted regardless. Unfortunate, but the quicker you understand that maybe the less this stuff happens. Lemmy is a big echo chamber just like Reddit or Facebook.
“A lethal dose of one point three to two point one (or one and three tenths to two and one tenth) nanograms per kilogram in humans.”
Honestly, if your hardware is good enough just run StableDiffusion locally via Automatic1111 or something.
As a side note, a really old, slow computer can be very useful as a sacrificial piece of hardware for network security.
Security bad when not updated anymore.
It is a digital software that people can use to make digitally animated films. It utilizes a video game engine developed by Valve called Source.
Assuming OP is talking about Trump, this would take place in the USA. So because they are in the USA, they would also need to prove the things said were actually false, that the things said were said with malicious intent, and that what was said was not protected such as something protected by the first amendment.
Winning a defamation case is very, very hard in the USA. Its not like Japan where the law literally gives away wins because you don’t even have to prove that what was said was false. The USA requires a lot of things be met in order to even qualify as defamation.
Morbid curiosity is different from enjoying the idea of witnessing a tragedy.
Morbid curiosity is wanting to know the solution to a mystery that is morbid in nature. It doesn’t necessarily involve getting enjoyment from a tragic event occurring.
Yes, I do think that is weird.
Interesting, but a sample size of 8% (531/6500ish) from a Canadian focused Lemmy instance that is so small isn’t what I would consider a good sample size of Lemmy as a whole.
I would consider someone “older” if they’re over 50.
Oh absolutely, I am not saying that nobody that uses Lemmy is over the age of 30 or something. Just that the large supermajority are likely not to be older, in my observation.
No, I haven’t blocked any Star Trek specific communities (unless they are on the .ml, .grad, or hexbear instances). I only have seen the TenForward community in any regularity. But I do realize a sizable amount of Lemmy users are also Trekkies. Its just that the other demographics are larger, so I left Trek out.
Young people are into Star Trek, but usually only because their parents were cool enough to introduce them to it.
Lemmy skews a lot of ways, but I have a hard time imagining a sizable number of older users being here.
For example, if you said the stereotypical Lemmy user is a Linux Loving Left Wing Trans Environmentalist Programmer, then I think you’d be hitting the nail on the head, at least in terms of the other user interactions I have observed across Lemmy. But I dont believe that the types of people who fit into those categories are largely older, it makes more sense for them to be largely younger.
I think it more comes down to those events being new or known enough that people know a bit about them but old enough that jokes/conspiracy theories or whatever would not be considered so offensive as if they had happened very recently. Also, its the age of the Netflix Documentary, and those topics are popular among Netflix Documentary makers.
Seems everyone these days makes politics their identity, left and right. And center.
Not European, but I think they might not use PSI since that’s Pounds per Square Inch. I believe they use Pascals.
