I have a 2023 Bolt, it has knobs and buttons and switches, many of which are on the steering wheel and you can feel them easily. I got a used one for $15k, the range is great. I don’t really like how far down the climate controls are, if you have them memorized it’s not bad but if you have to look them you have to take your eyes way too far off the road. I also don’t like how the infotainment can alter physical car functions, not a fan of internet connected devices being able to control the car, that’s not specific to the bolt though, I hate where the car industry is going.

Subnautica, I thought it was just minecraft under water, which sounded ok. Didn’t expect it to have a story, absolutely didn’t expect it to have an interesting story. The audio logs had some charming characters, ham and cheese had me cracking up whilst trying not to die. BUT, the exact moment I realized this game was special was the translated message you get after getting your arm poked, suddenly hours of environmental story telling snap into place as you realize what is about to happen. 11/10 would buy again.

I loved it, I had a lot of tasks that would only require intervention every few minutes so I could initiate a task and then go start laundry or something. At the end of the day I was actually free and not just bogged down with more chores.

Neat, the trees host microbes that can capture additional gases besides CO2, and they’re looking into which trees host the most effective microbes. Seems like a lot of discoveries lately have been about beneficial microbes like some gut bacteria or the ones that breakdown plastics into basic compounds. Maybe they’ll find one that breaks up misfolded proteins next.
