Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•how did you overcome your existential crisis?
16·6 days agoI read your last post and it hit pretty close to home for me. In 2024, my partner had two strokes. Since then, a few friends and family members have passed away unexpectedly.
To top it all off, a family friend just found out she had brain cancer. The dr said she had 6 weeks to live, unless she did chemo every day for at least 30 days, which would give her another 12-14 months.
I’m leaving my stable job of 22 years (which has slowly been sucking the soul out of me) on Friday and I can’t wait to start a new chapter in my life.
It’s sounds cliche, but life is short. If you’re unhappy you need to make change.

Programming@programming.dev•Does anyone else have done a lot more cyber security now that we're in the era of slop?
13·14 days agoAs someone in that field, I can assure you everyone is having to do a lot more CyberSecurity than they used to.
While there is a lot of AI slop out there, it’s also having a huge impact on the cyber security front, in that it’s finding vulnerabilities that are many years old and also brand new ones, faster than ever before. This makes it harder for the good guys to keep up. It’s definitely important to be mindful of security these days.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Just got arrested for a supposed DWI even though I blew a 0.0000000. Don't cops need to read your Miranda rights to you? I asked for a blood or hair follicle test and I was denied. WTH is happening?
141·15 days agoThis day and age you should be grateful you only got a ticket and you’re not in a concentration camp somewhere.
In all seriousness, yes cops suck. Go to court, if they got nothing, you may be able to get out of it.
