The good news is programming everywhere is garbage.
The good news is programming everywhere is garbage.
It’s all the same crap to me.
Any kind of overt and heavily pushed version of their stereotyped personality is the joke.
I grow tired of how all the Pixar style movies use the same facial visual gags. They’re all kinda samey.
My work gave everyone digital desk phones. The calls come through the computer.
I still barely ever get calls, and the Voicemail go to my email.
Steams custom controller profiles alone used on Steam Deck are killers for me. Nothing else amounts.
A dude had heard about some other kind of god, and so he randomly looked up at the sky and basically said “if you let me win this battle, I will convert my entire country”…
…and he won, and so Roman Catholicism was born cause he said so.
Later, some dude was like “screw your catholicism, I don’t like my wife any more, I’ll go make my own church with hookers and blow and divorce my wife,” and so the Church of England was made cause he said so.
I may have oversimplified these stories but pretty sure that’s about it.

Flight booking websites literally added these plane models so you could filter out specific planes to avoid those flights because of these stories.
I mean. The federal government also frequently overlooks flaws and doesn’t fix things either. Especially the middle managers. All they care about is their next GS level or SES.
I also wonder how many parents take phones from their kids but also turn around and post their whole lives on facebook.
Meanwhile my kids and all their classmates seem friendlier and more mentally healthier than I remember school age being. It’s all anecdotal. I’m always surprised at certain ages how some of these kids don’t allow bullying, and aren’t concerned with stupid relationship shit that I remember 20-30 years ago. It’s interesting.
I also know shitloads of adults depressed from Doom scrolling all day.
Your gross generalizations aren’t reality.
So set fucking limits on the phone? Is ‘all or nothing’ somehow the only option? It’s not hard to set time limits, restrict apps, and generally be involved in your kids lives to help them understand and learn moderation and healthy recognition of bad habits forming. Simply taking shit away also doesn’t help cause there’s no opportunity to make mistakes and learn. Where’s the fucking middle ground?
Also…
Everyone is glued to their screens these days.
What a boomer comment.
I think 36 Crazyfists were underrated. They sort of made it, but never really got huge. I also think their music only got better and their last 2 albums were amazing.
You want something that will never happen.
“Most published journal articles are horseshit, so I guess we should be okay with this too.”
Okay, but also, who cares about internet votes? I never vote and I never look at my votes. I don’t understand why people care about this or why it’s even a feature. It doesn’t work, people are clearly stupid about it, why does it exist.
It’s just blowing money to go exist in other places. Some people do it to simply avoid boredom. I’d argue it could be a hobby if they are putting effort into learning or collecting things or something.
Traveling and just being there is not a hobby. Traveling to, for example, visit certain types of sites or museums, maybe build a collection of photos or memorabilia, could be considered a hobby.
It’s bigotry. Whether it be racism, or classism, or political, or religious, or whatever. People have endless reasons for wanting to consider others as outsiders or lesser or different.
