Well this particular pathway isnt about getting .ml users to leave, but more “redirecting” good non-tankie content off their comms and into non-.ml comms

It’s because it’s part of my .ml cross-posting campaign, I try to maintain the original link as much as possible so it shows in the crosspost menu of clients
Why am I cross-posting .ml content?
I cross-post from .ml to the nearest relevant non-.ml comm to reduce the influence of .ml comms and indirectly, the instance as a whole, to make it an easier decision for other instance admins to defederate because one key reason I identified that admins don’t want to defederate is because .ml still has some very large comms and some niche comms.

I believe the behavior of its admins (the main admins are Lemmy devs) does harm to the overall growth of the Lemmy-verse and maybe even the Thrediverse (since Lemmy kinda kicked off the Thrediverse) because of its association with the devs of Lemmy and their insistence to use .ml as their personal political platform to spread harmful propaganda
On the outside, bringing up Lemmy frequently leads to comments like “Lemmy? Isn’t that the place with a bunch of tankies?” Or “Tried Lemmy, but found it full of pro Russia crap so I left”. The best way forward from that I see is to either widely defederate from .ml like the rest of the Triad, or pressure them to put a fair and unbiased as possible admin team.
2·23 days agoDo you do the initial formatting on the same windows machine? Maybe it’s fucking up the format process in some way
That’s actually crazy because windows these days actually defaults to formatting drives in exfat lmao
Full native cross compatibility with basically everything modern, if you need a drive to work between Linux, Mac and windows or even a device like a Blu-ray player that’s exfat
It’s fat32, but better and without that annoying 4GB file limitation

6·24 days agoAfaik it hasn’t been announced yet, I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re trying to avoid commitment until they have a plan to deal with the wonderful shortages in an attempt to keep it’s pricing as low as possible
No not really, because of my stance against .ml, my detractors/their defenders will show up from time to time no matter what account I use, take this one for example, it’s one of my oldest alts with extensive posting and comments so anyone who wanted to block it would have by now.
Though it really isn’t that often, I think I’m going about a week or more before encountering another comment about me “being a bot”/CIA op

NGL, I’ve seriously thought about it, but my AI skill set is very much still “in development” and I have tons of other projects to get done on my projects list
For all this AI BS we’re going through, why is there not one to actually automate budgeting. Of all the fucking apps they’re shoving down people’s throats, the one thing I’ve been waiting for still hasn’t come. Wtf.
I really need it, anything that doesn’t automatically pull in transactions reliably, between multiple accounts and reconciles transactions between them (matching a 10.39 transaction on one of my privacy cards to the corresponding bank pull transaction) is just gonna fall apart for me in a matter of months. (At best)
Envelopes, spreadsheets, YNAB, Quicken all have been tried, all got forgotten about -_-
