My main Fediverse profile is at @hybridhavoc@darkfriend.social
I can’t say I knew anything about how they operated to begin with. How did they pay their bills?
The “scraping” they are claiming may be coming from inside the house, so to speak, as it appears they are DDoSing themselves.
I think this may be related to this bug.
Yeah it’s quickly become one of my most frequently used keyboard shortcuts, and I’ve used it for exactly that purpose as well.
Win + Shift + Left / Right Arrow will shift a window from one monitor to the other. Should have known that keyboard shortcut a lot longer than I have.
Yeah I’ve transferred all but one of my domains already, want to start the transfer of the last one tonight.
From the link:
Yes, but: A Microsoft representative told Axios that the company cannot legally share the email’s contents, but that it was sent by Booty in 2019.
That would mean that whatever Booty may have said about Xbox trying to beat PlayStation preceded the company’s early 2022 bid to buy Activision Blizzard.
Yeah looks like a lot of single-user instances have seen a similar huge surge in user accounts. Here is a link to one of the discussions on the topic: https://lemm.ee/post/177673
Are you aware that your instance is currently home to nearly 20,000 users, while still only reporting just 2 posts? From the outside looking in your instance looks like the current home of a spam bot farm waiting to happen.
Most of those users seem to have joined in the past 2 days. https://fedidb.org/network/instance/lemmy.elest.io
Not in quite the same tone, no. But the main channel had this video: https://youtu.be/I1qsF0WQy8c
And later they did discuss the Twitter API lockup on Waveform. Here’s the clip: https://youtu.be/_vWJ5ugnZX0
I would feel better about this if it weren’t for Kick’s relationship with an online casino.
Well that’s annoying
Yeah I was a little disappointed to not get any mention of Lemmy or kbin, but I know their growth isn’t the biggest element of that news. As a group they have seemed mostly dismissive of the fediverse, with only Adam the producer even remotely active on Mastodon.
As far as I can tell, the suit is about those uploading music to twitter, which counts as sharing of content and shouldn’t be illegal.
It’s unclear here if you are using “should” in the descriptive or prescriptive.
Just a reminder that “Mastodon” is the software, not the specific service provider. Mastodon.sdf.org is different from, say, Mastodon.social even though they run the same software.
If you haven’t already, you should contact the admin for that instance with your concerns. The contact the site lists is mastodon@mastodon.sdf.org
