I’m taking a bit of time out for myself for the next little while … I’ve had some family loss that was very close to me and I’m taking time doing other things at the moment … it’s not anything or anyone that happened here on Lemmy or Piefed (they’re all great communities) … my life has just made a drastic change right now and I need to take care of myself for a while … I’ll be back later on but for the time being, I won’t be around much if at all.

I still love this space and everyone in it … I just need to take some time for myself right now.

During the worst of the fighting in WWII, allied ships when they could still took the time to pick up and rescue enemy sailors in the water.

So I guess, unless you are able to give a Nazi war salute to the German Fuhrer, you might have a chance of being rescued.

Are you kidding … my best hope is the American people because they are the ones who can change this at any time … but none of them so so it means that there is no hope … in 2026, 2028 or any other year, until the American mentality changes.

Boycotting and protesting with your money also works

If everyone just organized together and said … ‘hey, let’s boycott this one company and just this one company’ … and everyone did it, it would drive that one company to its knees and bankrupt it and even drive it out of business.

It wouldn’t affect most people terribly … we’d still be able to shop, go around do things and go about our lives without much disruption … but at the same time, it would scare the shit out of that one company.

Once one company gets destroyed, then everyone organize again and target another company and boycott them … then just keep the ball rolling and keep boycotting and driving out companies one at a time. After a month of doing this, every major company would be shitting their pants knowing that they would be next on the list.

These assholes don’t understand if you hold a sign up that says you dislike them … they never listen to that … but if a large enough group of us just stood back and withheld our money from them and told them to go fuck themselves, then they’d listen.

Generally the fediverse on lemmy, piefed and mastodon for me … lots more out there and it’s fun to explore new branches and directions of the fediverse and the communities of people they attract.

It’s daunting, challenging, confusing and complex … but that’s the beauty of it … it feels like wandering around and exploring the early social media internet from the early 2000s and this strange feeling that its going to become a whole lot more as time goes on.

Trading in existing items is not exactly capitalism … that’s just plain old bartering.

Capitalism, especially the modern form, is when you use your existing or inherited wealth to buy or develop companies who generate wealth from the work of other people to create brand new products or services. It’s exploitative because capitalists take the hard work of many people who create brand new products and then claim full or majority ownership over those products without having done anything except claim ownership.

What you are doing is taking old discarded things that either have no more value or lesser value and taking your own effort and time to recreate value and barter it to someone else. The only person you’ve exploited in the transaction is yourself … but you reap all the benefit. And no one can go back and say that the product that you just traded is stolen profit from the previous owner … the previous owner had thrown it away and didn’t value it any more or even considered it trash to be thrown away.

Flipping isn’t capitalism … it’s just good economic sense for the individual.

Unless you turn it all into a multimillion dollar business with employees, real estate and a corporation … it isn’t capitalism.

Buy stuff on ebay and start trading to bigger and better things. If you work at it hard enough, you’ll end up with trading items worth thousands without having spent more than $75.

The rules both legally and morally for hiding your identity are very distinct when applied to those in power.

The morality of it is pretty simple

If you want to wear a mask to hide your identity because of what you are doing … chances are you know what are you are doing is wrong and you don’t want to be held accountable for it later.

If you honestly believe in what you are doing and have all the faith in the world that what you are doing is morally, philosophically and politically correct … then you should never have the need to want to wear a mask to hide who you are.

Wearing a mask is the sign of a coward who doesn’t have the conviction to stand up for what they believe in.

There are still plenty of websites and even news websites that either avoid this or break reader mode to prevent people from using it.

If all you want is to read 5000 words of something you were looking for … just display those 5000 words and nothing else.

We don’t need graphics, pictures, images, blocking, ads, pop-ups, videos or any other suggestions … just give us the content, it’s all we want sometimes.

The fact that you were able to participate and still work within HOA regulations is an accomplishment onto itself.

The dumb part of this story is not that they’re trying to cover it up

The dumb part is that America just accepts it all as a cover up and won’t bother doing anything about it.

If any other president before had done any of this … the country would have erupted … but the US has become so complacent and apathetic to this orange menace that it’s become an authoritarian nation not ruled by force but by the adject stupidity and complacency of the entire country.
