WoW places. Since some of my servers died, I’m currently only sitting on dark portal (Firewall), and the Stranglethorn Valley server with Gurubashi Arena (Plex), Booty Bay (you can imagine) and wild shore (shared file system VM)

So the only thing helping would be VPN + DNS change… not too easy, but not too hard either to be honest, but it will probably exclude a lot of people from access
damn that’s pretty genius, although, doesn’t the tin foil or the pocket between the window heat up?
I don’t wanna be that kinda person, but it’s possible the owner had some visitation from the local authorities. It’s not uncommon to use a server for multiple things, and I could imagine that there might have been some… not so cool things on there
There’s another one: access to media while in poverty
Haven’t seen that one on ublock origin + Firefox
Personally, I’m holding off kbin all together until there’s a mobile app and collapsable comments, but if I were to use it I’d just create my own instance. I can already access all kbin communities from Lemmy and I’m not a huge microblogging fan anyways, so it doesn’t bother me too much.
Other then that, there’s this: https://kbin.fediverse.observer/list
Just don’t move to the kbin.social instance, I’m already starting to get worried since it’s an absolute monopoly castle on kbin
thanks a lot!
unless a relay is used
What do you mean by that?
what do you mean with “CLI based workflow”? If it’s about not using the gnome utilities like wifi, just check the arch wiki, pretty much everything is explained in there
I know we all dream of having all our friends and family on the Fediverse
I honestly have to say that this isn’t remotely part of my dream. I couldn’t care less about the friends and families that are using facebook. They can contact me over E-Mail or over my phone. If they want to stay in touch even more, come join Discord or leave it be, simple as that.
If it wasn’t for those alternative social media, I wouldn’t even use social media at all.
Am I in the minority for thinking like that?
I feel you, I’ve been super active in a niche community of a game ( /r/ADCmains from League), and even though it was a salty shitshow, I enjoyed it there.
I got some of that fixed by joining a discord, but it’s not the same :/
