I use old thinkcentre machines, they’re cheap and are powerful enough for decent servers. I have them loaded with 16gb of RAM and 2x265gb NVME each for mirroring. They work wonderfully.

Reply to the edit: The problem here is that you’re treating every discussion on the internet like an argument. He’s not “setting up” an argument, he’s sharing an (unfortunate) reality about the U.S. medical system.
Remote work means a lot of well paid individuals are able to move to less expensive areas, assuming internet is decent.
I’ve tried this out a bit recently, it runs really well but I can’t figure out why it exists. I don’t really understood the appeal of “everything apps”.
