this is really cool! i love how it’s telling a story and building a world with just one image

maybe less, though i’ve also been spending less time on social media like that lately anyways. though i do like lemmy, reddit has a lot more content in general and subs for my more niche interests (mostly battlejackets), so i do find myself scrolling there a fair amount. it tends to be a more conscious decision though, which is good, and i tend to stick to only a few subs that i really like. less mindless scrolling, more hunting for inspiration and conversation.
i really like these!
wtf this is actually true though 💀💀💀
this one’s really great too! tbh i think the curved spikes look really good as is, but if you want to make them straight go for it for sure :)
wait what 😅 context?
good shit, i love the sketch and lore/worldbuilding! definitely post the finished version if your planning on making one :)
seconded! this one was excellent
while i wouldn’t say i personally have much input about the piece itself, i really enjoyed reading your thoughts on it, especially seeing as it’s an AI generated piece.
i don’t really like AI art in a general sense for plenty of reasons, but i’d never considered that some people might get something out of it in a similar way that people tend to with people made art- the sort of wonder i can see in your post as you think about different aspects of it, like why he might be wearing sunglasses, if this piece is akin to the collage of paper squares, what the meaning of the types of paintings behind the man might be, etc. i wouldn’t have figured anyone could get that sort of thought provoking aspect of real art when looking at a generated image, but i appreciate being able to hear your thoughts around it and how you do just that.
this is absolutely disgusting- please share when you’ve finished it :) and i really like the thought you’ve put into all of it, with what kind of weapon they’re holding and how they can interact with other pestilence and stuff!
about how long do you think it takes you to make a sketch like this?
thanks so much! this looks super awesome :)
hi, do you think you could walk me through how to download something like this or point me in the direction of a guide or something that could? i’ve been using lemmy just on browser but would be interested in something like this, i’ve just never installed anything like it before and don’t quite know what to do :) thanks!
yiiiiikes i definitely did miss that!
imo the novelty of john oliver will wear off soon, and people will want regular content again. so long as mods stay firm that regular content is not allowed, users will be dissatisfied and lower their engagement. though it’s not a perfect plan (people could just use different subs), it’s better than nothing
was that the bit about all of this blowing over or did i miss something?
same. i’d like to spend most of my browsing time here on lemmy rather than reddit if possible, but i doubt i’ll fully leave anytime soon. unless my favourite communities (r/battlejackets, r/visiblemending, r/posthardcore, etc.) migrate, i’ll be going back from time to time for them and their like minded user base
niche hobby subs are absolutely why i suspect i’ll not truly be able to leave, unless they were to migrate to lemmy or somewhere else. though hopefully i’ll be able to move my general browsing here instead, it can be hard to find those same like minded people on a whole new platform :/
Mythic Greek World Rescue Fierce Barbarian Serial Killer Eager Apprentice Androids
trying to find a way to work all these components together (especially the androids) is an interesting thought process, though i think having them be divinely powered is what i’m leaning towards. like, no one knows how they work, and so they kind of revere them.
for the rescue plot, i think the eager apprentice sounds like the right one to need rescuing. too eager, not careful enough maybe. captured by serial killer i suppose, who could be an android for extra funsies, and the barbarian main character gets to go save them. probably all while realizing/coming to terms with the fact that they actually DO like the apprentices company and miss them, despite finding them very annoying in the beginning.
i think it’s a cool idea and gets you to stretch some creative muscles with connecting some unrelated ideas and imagining what a story involving these elements might be like :)
