Good thing we have this expert history book reader to tell us that the first thing the UNITED STATES did wrong was import slaves into the ENGLISH COLONY of Virginia in 1619

The founders were entirely aware that not only an entire party, but the entire government could become irrational and work against our best interests: that’s why we have the second amendment as a backstop and last line of defense against authoritarian rule
The nature of democracy not being a system that relies purely on violence for legitimacy (unlike authoritarian forms of government) means that it is a constant forever war against the lapping waves of fascism attempting to slowly erode away our democratic institutions (because we, thankfully, don’t just use violence to immediately silence dissidents)
I think an entire generation of people raised in the peace dividend have forgotten this fact, figured that democracy is the natural course of things, ignored its badly needed maintenance, and are swiftly being reminded of it now that the damage is so readily apparent

In order to participate in the vast majority of active r/conservative threads (any tagged “Flaired Users Only”, which 9 of the top 10 posts right now are), you need to first pass a mod purity test to prove you’re “conservative enough”, it’s not a serious place and is mostly just dumb Facebook-tier memes and poor quality screenshots of news headlines or random tweets
Hexbear suffers from the nazi bar problem, they’re not ALL tankies, but they sure do hang out with a lot of them
I just don’t have the time to sus out who’s who and it’s much easier (and less massive-shock-image-spamming) to use an instance that’s defederated with them
A TOS doesn’t give you the legal right to destroy someone’s property… At worst they could deny service
Netplay isn’t exactly ideal, as from what I understand it generally requires the syncing of all players emulated console hardware simultaneously (basically, every emulator tricks the game into thinking they’re all being played on one single console), which is a lot harder to reliably achieve than having native netcode to handle multiplayer

If only there was a way to know who removed the code
After decades of brainwashing people with the most insane shit, the inmates are finally running the asylum
Modern women are financially independent (in fact, they’re more educated than men nowadays) and are now far less likely to be tied down and dependent on a man by accidental pregnancies (widespread contraceptives + access to abortions)
Getting a stable 9 to 5 won’t result in a wife landing in your lap any more, women will choose to be single over dating a boring shit head, so all the boring shit heads are reeling at the fact that they now have to offer more to the relationship than just financials, and they’re consistently voting for policy that attempts to “put women back in their place” (ie dependent on them for money)
Yeah, the ammo box is literally the fourth box of democracy after the soap box, the ballot box, and the jury box, but it’s only to be used when the other three have failed
At the end of the day, might makes right, so we better make damn well sure the side we believe in has more of it
I don’t need any talking heads, “fake news” or otherwise, to tell me what my own eyes and ears saw and heard in the months between election night and January 6th (and in the years since, my conviction has only been strengthened honestly)
Donald Trump is easily the largest threat to American democracy in the 150 years since the civil war, because he’s tricking millions and millions of people into not believing in the democratic process itself, and is responsible for the first time in our country’s entire history that the peaceful transfer of power (ie, a candidate gracefully losing, which is a core component of a stable democracy) was threatened
I don’t give a shit about his policies, his clips, his soundbites, whatever other things you think are being used to unfairly paint him in a bad light, this fact alone makes him wholly unfit to be the leader of the free world
I have to ask, why? Why would you support someone so transparently anti-democracy, possibly one of the most dangerous enemies of the United States in a long time, the leader of our very own home grown Beer Hall Putsch? Why would you give him a second chance to overthrow the democratic government of our country?
In the EU at least, companies can say whatever they want in their ToS, it doesn’t change the fact that you legally own your digital games
Chopping the heads off the hydra will kill it this time, for sure

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve looked up some feature or low-priority bug only to find the answer is “there’s a PR for this that will be added in 10.9”, commented like a year ago, glad to see the future plan is more frequent but smaller feature releases!
It seems you have read a book in the last 2 hours, I’m glad we’re in agreement that it doesn’t involve the US then
