Personally I down voted once I read that somehow one of these laptops are on par with a high end gaming PC which is simply not true at all.
I ain’t got no brain or no sane. I’m insane in the membrane.

Sounds like the Taiwanese police were under some pressure to make a big bust so they pulled out a box of cheap cables they acquired from the local markets and made up some public service maths to look good.
This is much more hassle. Apart from having to actually set up and configure such a device, every time you want to use it you’ve got to switch it on, switch your TV input and use a different remote to control it. This is far inferior to just using the TV remote to open Plex and navigate with the same remote. That’s without considering that Plex is more polished and has an overall better UI as well.
These are a lot of the core reasons why Plex is better. Setting up a media server is a lot more complicated than just installing the package in your favourite distro.
Plex is easier to set up and has more features that are more polished than what Jellyfin has. It’s also a more well known name and been available a lot longer and it’s app is available on a lot more devices including TVs themselves.
Jellyfin will one day be the superior option though once it’s more polished and caught up in these areas.
Wish I had the money to even be able to drive one of these nightmare cars in the first place. Yay for being poor I guess!
You shouldn’t use Brave simply because it’s heavily infected with crypto shit and tries to monitorize your web browsing time by default. Not everything you do has to be a side hustle.
Sure you can “switch it off” but then why not use something else in the first place that’s focus isn’t trying to make money out of you. If Brave ever gained any decent market share the web would be an even shitter place than what Google is suggesting at the moment.
Yeah woah, these questions were supposed to narrow it down but instead gave me way to many options most of which weren’t all that suitable at all.
Just visit the specific subreddits with content that your after using bookmarks while you also use Lemmy. There’s no sides to this stuff that you have to choose between.
Latest release is a touch old (2022) and it’s not the most active repo ever. Hopefully its not dying.
Am pretty lazy.
There’s not a good alternative to Discord for it’s usecases. Sorry Matrix and XMPP, despite many attempts at clients to mimic Discord on these protocols they just never cut it.
You should be using the best tool for the job, even when it comes to operating systems and software. If your development workflow is this heavily dependent on Linux then I’m not surprised you find it Windows more painful compared to just running Linux itself.
For myself, mostly doing enterprise and backend development in C#, Python and a bit of Go, Windows gets out of my way and let’s me get to work far more efficiently than Linux ever does for this work.
Joplin explains on their website that it’s for preformance that they use a database rather than flat files.
That’s the one. Been so long since I set it up.
That 5GB cloud storage is a bit stingy though on their standard plan.
Upgrades can be done by either bumping the package version number in the config or using “latest” which will pull the latest version, the running the up command again.
You can automate this with a package called Watchtower which will check daily for updates for the ones you config with the latter.
Have they gotten rid of snap yet in this release?
They do this with the goal to replace the tracking and ad network with their own. The article points out several instances where they’ve done this.
Only reason to choose Authy over anything else tbh. This just basically killed the product.
