As far as I’m aware, every time the GOP has shut down the government, it’s backfired on them. It seems to be the one thing that voters are able to reliably correctly lay blame for, so yeah, I’d say he’s wrong.
Honestly, I kinda wonder why that is? Like, why is this the one thing they cannot reliably deflect the blame for? They manage it for just about all their other bullshit.
