Same with USPS and dumping all the new electric vehicles. It took them nearly 10 years to set requirements, get bids, choose a contractor, and then get them rolling out. Now they’re just going to dump them because electric vehicles are woke I guess. Meaning they either have to keep maintaining an aging fleet and/or have to start the same process all over again.

Tbh they’re probably just gonna be like “yeah let’s just buy 200,000 Chevy Tahoes MURICUH FUCK YEAHHHHH”

Actually, more realistically, they’ll probably just privatize the USPS.

They haven’t been able to dump them yet. Republicans tried in the budget bill, but they were stopped by the parliamentarian. You can tell they weren’t successful because they keep railing against them and rags like the New York Post keep slamming Biden over the contract to try to drum up popular opposition to it. Sen. Joni Ernst just introduced a new bill a couple days ago to cancel the contract.

The article doesn’t go into enough detail, but a lot of the USAF personnel systems already run on Salesforce platforms (MYFSS), and has been for several years now. Palantir also deployed a data connector between a lot of USAF systems including personnel data last year.

I don’t know all of the details and it certainly looks sketchy, but if the cancelled project started 12 years ago and still isn’t delivered, they may simply be deciding to stop throwing good money after bad and integrate more things onto the platforms they already have and already use.
