OR Parliament Hill could oh I don’t know finally grow some balls and tell Galen and his cronies it’s time to dissolve their monopoly or the government will do it for them. when 75% of the industry is held by 5 grocers that’s a damn problem. add to the fact they’re all in cahoots with each other when it comes to pricing and then it feels like it’s 1 grocer that calls the shots for everyone else and it’s not hard to imagine WHICH grocer it is.

People in this country should not have to be super rich in order to eat and feed their families. there’s a damn good reason why lines for food banks across the country continue to grow on a weekly basis. There’s a damn good reason why I now see people with children and families lining up for food on thursday mornings for breakfast that was originally intended to feed the homeless.

If I see someone stealing food from a loblaws, metro, longos, whatever then no the fuck I didn’t. Because I’m also helping myself.

The problem is they let the market consolidate and now it mashes no financial sense to try and compete.

The solution was 20 years ago not letting Loblaws buy EVERY fucking grocery store and chain.
