What a spectacular own goal this war has been.
It’s genuinely incredible how badly the US has fucked this up. And everything that went wrong was entirely predictable. This wasn’t some kind of “Hindsight is 20/20” deal. Everything that happened was predicted to happen by anyone who was paying attention. It took truly staggering levels of ignorance and stupidity to get caught in a trap this obvious and to do it this badly.
That war is going exactly the way the memorial reflection pool went. Ignore every expert that could’ve told exactly how this would play out, let other people execute his stupid idea then make it worse by even more bad decisions, and blame someone else when it’s clear how big a disaster it is.
It was so easy to see that even trump himself spent a few years around 2011 saying that Obama would do it.
They fired everyone in favor of yes men. It’s going the same way it’s gone throughout history.
The US should propose to Iran that it will immediately lift all sanctions against it and release all frozen assets in exchange for opening the Strait of Hormuz without fees. This would give Iran income which is the purpose of the fees.
