The “just updated” page boasts Firefox is much faster now (which is great) but I still think the greatest change is Firefox View.
Which was not the best when it came out, but is now the perfect place to stop for so many reasons.
I’m just waiting for them to implement a bookmarks manager in there. Then it would be complete, however, now you would use the Firefox View for everything and would still to open that ancient window for bookmarks.
Faster ? Did they implement DNS-prefetch or some other preloading ?
ICYMI the answer is here: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/features/fast/
Thanks. tl;dr :
Speedometer 3 work has led to significant optimizations to the SpiderMonkey JavaScript engine
Now just have to wait a few days for Fennec and Mull
And Librewolf
Isn’t that a fork of desktop FF?
Yes, it is. It disables bloat like pocket, for example and offers better privacy protection by default
Have they fixed enterprise sso yet?
What do you mean? It seems to work fine for me (we use Okta), except Codacy, but I suspect that’s just Codacy.
Did they move any icons to random spots…
Like when?
I dunno, 2017 or something when they moved the refresh button for literally no reason.
Companies love UI changes to be fresh but it’s more just a pain.
I agree, but a change once per decade is not exactly going to kill me.
And they wouldn’t do it in a patch release.
