That’s some real dirty dealing by the Secretary of the State, but hopefully those voters will be able to hold their nose long enough to vote for Harris so Trump doesn’t take the swing state.

As another poster pointed out, Ohio is not a swing state anymore. It voted Republican in 2016 and 2020, and is Right of the country as a whole. Trump is +11, +9, +6, +8, +9, and +9 on polls in September, which is in line with August and July numbers. 538 has Ohio in Trump’s column 892 times out of 1000 runs. Harris only wins 108 out of 1000 simulations. Ohio is Trump Country. Period.

Alternative view - it sounds like it may be that the different levels of the Green party were not communicating with each other properly. So a minor staffer misunderstood and made a mistake with seriously grave consequences.

Since that technically means it’s the Green party’s mistake (even if it’s the local Ohio Greens rather than Stein’s national group) I’d hold up less hope of a win.

Though after seeing what happened in Nevada, I might just be a tad too pessimistic… sometimes it really does feel like the system is rigged.

But regardless, that doesn’t mean Stein is incompetent or that Stein did anything wrong. At most, there might be an opportunity here to better manage the different local party chapters to prevent mistakes of this nature from happening. It goes to AOC’s point about the need to build up a better grassroots - closer communication with the Ohio chapter might have been enough to prevent this tragic mistake from happening.
